Brita Purity C Filter Head Set VII – Complete solution for plumbed-in espresso machines
You buy a high-end machine and connect it to the mains water supply. But the tap water is too hard. After six months, the delicate pipes are clogged with limescale, and the espresso tastes flat because chlorine and impurities mask the aromas. The Brita Purity C filter head set VII prevents exactly that.
It's the complete, worry-free package for safely connecting your machine to the water supply. No improvisation required, just professional catering technology for your kitchen. Includes a flow meter that shows you exactly when the cartridge needs changing.
Why this set? Full control via the flowmeter
The centerpiece of this set is not just the filter head, but the included 10-100A flowmeter . How do you know when the filter cartridge is exhausted? Guessing is dangerous for your machine's boiler. The flowmeter precisely measures every liter of water flowing into the machine and displays on a digital screen when it's time for a change.
In addition, there's the variable blending at the filter head (0-70%): You set how much water is filtered and how many minerals should remain in the water. This is tailor-made water chemistry for perfect espresso.
Technical details
-
Variable blending (0-70%): Allows you to adjust the carbonate hardness of your water precisely to the target value (4-5° dH is ideal for espresso).
-
Digital Flowmeter 10-100A: Counts the water flow rate down (10-100 liters/hour flow rate) and warns you in good time when the cartridge is exhausted. The display flashes when the cartridge is empty and after 12 months of operation.
-
3/8" connections: Standard thread for easy installation on any cold water angle valve.
-
Wall bracket: For clean, secure mounting of the filter cartridge under the sink (vertical, horizontal or overhead possible).
-
Hose set: High-quality, pressure-resistant hoses (food-safe) for a secure connection between angle valve, filter and machine.
-
Shut-off valve with backflow preventer: This valve protects the drinking water network from contamination. It allows for maintenance without interrupting the water supply.
-
Integrated venting & flushing: Venting and flushing at the touch of a button – child's play.
-
Tool-free cartridge change: Filter change in 2 minutes without special tools.
-
Universal compatibility: Fits all Brita Purity C cartridges (C50, C150, C300, C500, C1000, C1100).
The Coffee Coaching Club tip: Applied aroma chemistry
Why water determines the body of your espresso Espresso consists of over 90% water. Chemically speaking, water acts as a solvent. Calcium and magnesium are the "carriers" that bind the aromas from the coffee grounds.
If the water is too hard (too many minerals), it becomes "saturated." It can no longer absorb the valuable coffee oils. The result: a flat espresso lacking texture. If it's too soft, it lacks the necessary dissolving power – the espresso tastes sour and weak.
With the Brita filter head, you adjust the blend so that the water has the ideal dissolving power (4-5° dH). This maximizes the heavy, viscous body and the dense crema – perfect for our
Nutty Delight . At the same time, the Brita activated carbon filters out unwanted chlorine, allowing the delicate, vibrant fruitiness of our
Wild Peach to shine through crystal clear, without being masked by any off-flavors.

Important: Filter cartridge is NOT included. Choose the appropriate cartridge based on your water consumption (e.g., Brita Purity C150, C300, or C500 ).

Frequently Asked Questions about the Brita Purity C Filter Head Set VII
Is the filter cartridge included in the set?
No, the filter cartridge must be ordered separately. Set VII only includes the filter head, flow meter, hoses, wall bracket, and shut-off valve. This allows you to choose the cartridge size (C150, C300, C500) based on your consumption.
How often do I need to change the cartridge?
Depending on your water hardness and consumption. The flow meter shows you exactly when the capacity is exhausted. Example: C150 cartridge = 1,100 liters. At 5 liters/day = approx. 220 days. The display flashes when the cartridge is exhausted or after 12 months of operation (whichever comes first).
Can I install the set myself or do I need an installer?
Installation is feasible for technically skilled individuals (cold water angle valve → filter → machine). However, we recommend hiring a qualified plumber for plumbing installations to ensure compliance with standards. If you have any questions, please call us; we're happy to advise you.
What blending level should I set the filter head to?
First, test your tap water hardness with the Brita test kit. Target carbonate hardness for espresso: 4-5° dH. Example: Tap water 15° dH → Adjust the blend to achieve 4-5° dH. Measure, adjust, and you're done. We use a 30% blend in both Bern and Zurich.

Roastery tip: As a coffee roastery, we know: never skimp on water. In our roastery, all machines run on Brita Professional systems – for years now, without a single limescale-related problem. The difference in taste is dramatic: unfiltered Bernese tap water (approx. 18° dH) makes our Cozy Chocolate flat and bitter. Filtered with Brita to 4° dH, the chocolate notes practically explode, the crema is silky, and the mouthfeel is full. This set isn't the cheapest solution, but it's the right one. Your machine will thank you with years of reliable service – and every espresso will taste exactly as it should.
