What differentiates the iQ from a normal filter
A classic PURITY C filter filters – and that's it. The iQ thinks along. An integrated flow meter measures water consumption and calculates the cartridge's remaining capacity in real time. The sensor technology in the filter head analyzes the raw water's carbonate hardness and automatically sets the blend ratio – the proportion of unfiltered water is regulated so that the mineral content remains within the target range. Everything is visible in the BRITA iQ Portal: filter capacity, water quality, filter change planning. No service visit is needed to know if the filter is still good.

Who is the PURITY C iQ for?
The PURITY C iQ is for anyone operating an espresso machine or coffee machine with a fixed water connection – in a cafe, office, or semi-professional home environment. For anyone who knows that water quality is the most important variable for coffee taste and machine maintenance. And for anyone who doesn't want to manually measure and adjust, but rather wants a system that does it itself.
Not suitable for machines with an internal water tank without a fixed water connection. For home machines with a tank: BRITA PURITY C Quell ST is the suitable alternative.

Why is water quality so important for espresso?
Water makes up over 90% of espresso. The ideal mineral content is 50–100 mg/l – too few minerals and the espresso tastes flat, too many and limescale forms in the machine. The PURITY C iQ automatically keeps the mineral content in the target range while preventing limescale deposits.
What is the difference between PURITY C iQ and a normal PURITY C filter head?
The normal PURITY C filter head filters without measurement – the bypass setting is done manually. The iQ continuously measures carbonate hardness and automatically adjusts the bypass. In addition, it reports remaining capacity and filter data to the BRITA iQ Portal.
Do I need Wi-Fi for the PURITY C iQ?
No – the iQ filter head connects to the cloud via an integrated LTE narrowband module. No Wi-Fi, no separate subscription. The LTE connection is included in the device.
Which cartridge fits the PURITY C iQ?
