The surface your cups stand on, flawless again
The cover plate sits on top of the Linea Mini, where the cups wait. It is the surface of this machine you see and touch most often – and so the first one to show its age.
Cup bottoms leave fine circles in the metal, spilled milk leaves marks, and wiping it just once with the wrong sponge leaves permanently dull spots. If your Linea Mini otherwise runs like on day one, replacing this one plate is worth it. Part number C.1.196.01.
When it's time
A new plate makes sense if:
- scratches and cup rings make the surface look dull,
- marks or discolouration can no longer be polished out,
- the plate is bent and no longer lies flat,
- a corner is dented, for example after transport.

Who it's for
For anyone whose Linea Mini stands in plain view in the kitchen or shop and who wants it to still look that way years from now. And for resale: a fresh plate changes the overall impression of a used machine more than any polish.
What goes with it
You'll find more parts under La Marzocco Linea Mini spare parts and in the overarching category La Marzocco accessories and spare parts. If you're sprucing things up anyway: the feet for GS3 and Linea Mini are the second classic. You'll find care products under Machine and grinder cleaning.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
On stainless steel we always work in the direction of the grain and only with a soft cloth – circular motions with a sponge are the reason most plates turn dull after two years. This is our routine, not a manufacturer specification. Once the machine is up and running again, we usually pull the first espresso with Nutty Delight, for cappuccino we use Cozy Chocolate and for strong cups Very Nutty. You'll find the full selection under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the appliance. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Does the plate fit every Linea Mini?
It is listed for the Linea Mini. Because there have been small changes over the years of manufacture, send us the serial number if in doubt.
Is a heating element or wiring included?
No. Only the plate is supplied.
How do I get scratches out of the old plate?
Fine scratches can be reduced by working in the direction of the grain, deep ones cannot. If that bothers you, replacing it is the more honest way.
What is the part number of this part?
C.1.196.01. If you have this number from a service document, you're in the right place.
Can I pick up the part at the showroom?
Yes. We're in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Drop us a quick message and we'll have it ready for you.
