Lelit Portafilter Double Spout Zebrano – portafilter with wooden handle for LELIT58
Wood in your hand at six in the morning, still cool from the night – and then the warmth of the group, working its way up through the steel.
Lelit itself calls the portafilters with wooden handles the most elegant in its range, and that's a matter of form: a slim line, fine wood, nothing else. Zebrano has a distinct, striped grain that falls differently on every piece. Wood is a natural material – no two handles are ever identical, and the tone changes over the years.
What sets this portafilter apart
The handle is shaped to work with you when tamping: it gives your hand a clear direction when you brace the portafilter and build up pressure. The spout is designed as a Coffee Slide and positioned so that it doesn't touch the worktop. The path from basket to cup stays short, and less heat is lost on a short path. Temperature helps decide which compounds dissolve – higher brings more body, lower more complexity and aroma.
It comes with four stainless steel baskets from the collaboration with IMS: one serving of 9 to 11 grams, two servings of 14 to 18 grams, two servings of 18 to 21 grams, and a blind basket. The choice of basket fundamentally changes the aroma picture, because hole pattern and flow resistance help determine when which compound dissolves. Three sizes in the box means you can experience this without buying anything extra. The blind basket is for the backflush – daily without detergent, about every 50 shots with detergent, around five minutes.
That material and feel influence enjoyment before the first sip is measurable: vessel, colour and surface change how we rate body and aroma. We still always describe extraction by weight ratio, 1:2 as a starting point, never by time alone. No espresso laws, no espresso police – the coffee has to taste good. Our opinion is one of many.

Who it's made for
For everyone with a Lelit machine with a LELIT58 group who'd like a second portafilter in the house – one for the usual dose, one for everything else. And for everyone for whom the factory plastic handle isn't quite enough. Nobody needs wood on an espresso machine. You either want it or you don't, and both are fine.
No shot can be replicated: the bean, the humidity and the person change every day. A second basket in the drawer doesn't take any of that away from you, it just gives you more room to play. Which machine works with which group you can see among the Lelit espresso machines; more models with and without a bottom are in the Portafilters and bottomless portafilters collection.
What goes with it
Three basket sizes only come into their own when the dose is right. For everyone who wants a coffee scale that's affordable and precise: the Normcore barista tools, where you'll also find the WDT tool and the Spring-Loaded Tamper. If you want app, flow-rate display and Bluetooth: the Acaia coffee scales.
The same goes for tamping and distributing: affordable and good are the Normcore Spring-Loaded Tamper and the Normcore WDT tool; if you want more, you'll find the Weber tamper and the Moonraker at Weber Workshops. And if you're wondering which machine goes with it in the first place, our comparison and advice tool can help.
Frequently asked questions
Which Lelit machines does this portafilter fit?
All Lelit machines with the LELIT58 group: MaraX and MaraX3, Bianca, Elizabeth and Elizabeth3, Victoria and Victoria3, and Kate. The Anna and Anita models work with the LELIT57 group – it doesn't fit there.
What's the difference from the Lelit Iconic series?
The Iconic series has a gemstone-shaped handle with a circular cross-section and a weighted metal core, designed to take less effort when locking it in. This one belongs to the classic series with wooden handle: slimmer in shape, the same LELIT58 group, the same four IMS baskets.
Which baskets are included?
Four, made of stainless steel and developed in collaboration with IMS: one serving of 9 to 11 grams, two servings of 14 to 18 grams, two servings of 18 to 21 grams, and a blind basket for the backflush.
How do I care for the wooden handle?
The handle doesn't go in the dishwasher and is best kept dry. The metal part is cleaned as usual. Zebrano is a natural material; every grain turns out differently and changes over the years.
Can I see the product before buying?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there. If you're buying online in Switzerland: delivery to Switzerland and Liechtenstein takes 2 to 4 working days.
From the roastery
A second portafilter is the best opportunity to run two beans side by side. Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight make a rewarding pair for this – both dense and round, and yet they tell different stories of caramel, chocolate and nuts. If you're looking for maximum body without any acidity, go for Very Nutty. And for a fruity experience on the side, there's Wild Peach. That's our recommendation, one of many; any other bean works just as well.
