Normcore Puck Screen 58.5 / 51 mm – Single Screen 1.7 mm made of 316 Stainless Steel
A single, slim stainless steel disc – in the size that fits your machine. You place it on the tamped coffee bed, close the brew group, and the water distributes more evenly while keeping the shower screen clean. Simple, effective, quick to hand.
The puck screen for everyone who simply needs a single screen in the right size.
What makes the Puck Screen special
The Puck Screen sits on top of the coffee bed and ensures a softer, more even water flow into the puck. This helps to reduce channeling and supports a more even extraction. At the same time, it keeps the brew group's shower screen clean because hardly any coffee grounds are drawn upwards, and the puck can be knocked out compactly. With a mesh size of 150 microns, the sieve supports full extraction.
This version is a single screen, 1.7 mm thick, available in 51 mm or 58.5 mm. The 1.7 mm is the most popular choice for normal grind size. There is no right or wrong; this is just our view, one of many.

Frequently asked questions about the Normcore Puck Screen 58.5 / 51 mm
Which size fits my machine?
58.5 mm fits into the common 58 mm portafilters of most espresso machines. 51 mm is suitable for smaller portafilters, for example from De'Longhi or Ascaso.
Is a stand included?
This version is a single Puck Screen in 1.7 mm, without a stand. If you want two thicknesses and a stand, you can find the right set in our Normcore Collection.
What does a Puck Screen do?
It distributes water more gently and evenly over the coffee bed, reduces channeling, and keeps the brew group's shower screen clean.
How do I clean the Puck Screen?
Rinse thoroughly with water after use. If soiled, clean with a burst from the steam wand. If your shower screen is attached with a screw, as with La Marzocco or Slayer, use a little less coffee for a double shot so that the screen does not touch the screw.
Roastery Tip
A single Puck Screen is the uncomplicated solution for everyday use. For dense, sweet espresso, we like to use Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight. If you like it full-bodied and round without any acidity, stick with Very Nutty; for a fruity experience, Wild Peach goes into the grinder. This is our recommendation, one of many, and any bean you like is the right one.
