The rubber sleeve on the portafilter holder
The portafilter holder is the fork the portafilter hangs in while you grind. It takes load several times a day, and it is fastened to the grinder housing with screws. Each of these screws carries a rubber sleeve – rubber between screw and holder means no metal on metal, and it means the holder sits snugly instead of with play.
Rubber loses its elasticity over the years, especially under repeated load. A sleeve that has become hard and cracked gives the screw a tenth of play – and you hear that tenth as rattling while grinding and feel it when the portafilter wobbles in the fork. Important for installation
To replace the sleeves, the portafilter holder is removed, which exposes the inside of the grinder – the grinder must be unplugged beforehand and the bean hopper empty. Do not force the screws tighter to press out play: a stripped screw in the housing is greater damage than a tired sleeve. After reassembly, put load on the holder and check the fit by hand. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here.

Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will work out the fit together.
