Weber Workshops Really Nice Tamper Base Kit – Interchangeable Base for 49, 54, and 58mm
You know the feeling when you press the Really Nice Tamper: the smooth mechanism, the clear resistance of the spring, the quiet click of the leveling plate. With the Base Kit, you can bring that exact feeling to a second machine – same handle, different size.
Weber Workshops designed the tamper so that the base can be separated from the handle. The Base Kit provides you with a new working surface in 49, 54, or 58 mm, which you attach to your existing Really Nice Tamper handle. The handle, spring, and weight remain familiar; only the diameter changes – in seconds. Coffee Coaching Club is the exclusive Swiss importer of Weber Workshops.
What the Base Kit is designed for
Anyone with more than one machine knows the drill: two portafilter sizes, two tampers, two habits. With the Base Kit, the handle remains the same – mechanism, feel, and weight unchanged. Only the base changes. This way, you can cover, for example, a Cremina next to a La Marzocco or a Sage next to an ECM, without buying a second complete tamper.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the Base Kit without the Really Nice Tamper?
No. The Base Kit only includes the base, leveling collar, and stand – no handle or spring. You need an existing Really Nice Tamper as a foundation.
Does the 49mm base fit my La Pavoni?
Yes, for models before August 2000 with a 49mm portafilter. Newer La Pavoni models from August 2000 use 51mm and are not compatible.
Can I see the Base Kit before purchasing?
You can see Weber Workshops products live in the showrooms in Bern and Zurich. Since not all variants are permanently on display, please inquire briefly beforehand if necessary: office@coffeecoachingclub.ch.
How fast is delivery in Switzerland?
2 to 4 working days throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein. Click and Collect available in Bern and Zurich.
Roastery Tip
An evenly tamped puck extracts more homogeneously, no matter the machine – the water distributes evenly, and no side is over- or underextracted. With dense profiles like our Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight, this results in a rounder, clearer cup. This is our recommendation, one of many.
