Eureka Mignon Specialità – quiet espresso grinder with 55mm burrs
The Eureka Mignon Specialità is a quiet espresso grinder with 55mm flat burrs in hardened steel, a touch display and stepless adjustment.
Eureka places it in the Silent Range of the Eureka 1920 line and calls it one of the best-known Mignon models. It is built by Eureka in Sesto Fiorentino near Florence. As a partner of Eureka, we carry it in many housing colours: buy the Eureka Mignon Specialità in Switzerland, online or in Bern and Zurich.
Features of the Mignon Specialità
Quiet
Eureka's Silent Technology lowers the grinding noise with an anti-vibration system. According to the data sheet, this puts the grinder around 20 dB below conventional grinders, with no loss in grinding performance.
Fast
55mm burrs in hardened steel and a powerful motor grind quickly and evenly. Eureka states 1.8 to 2.5 g/s for espresso.
Versatile
The adjustable hands-free fork holds most portafilters securely. You grind directly into the portafilter and keep your hands free for the next step.
Touch display
On the touch display you set the grind time and adjust the dose to your recipe: two programmable doses, fine correction of the grind time with plus and minus, and the Extra Dose function.
Stepless micrometric adjustment
The system patented by Eureka offers infinite adjustment points. It moves the lower burr, so your grind setting is preserved during maintenance and cleaning.
The details in everyday use
ACE system
According to Eureka, the Anti-Clump & Electrostaticity system prevents clumps in the grounds and regulates the coffee output.
Quick maintenance
The burr carrier comes out by loosening 9 screws. This lets you clean and change the burrs quickly.
Microswitch on the fork
You start grinding with a durable microswitch on the fork or directly on the display.
Range of use
Eureka recommends the Specialità for all brewing methods: Turkish, espresso, moka, drip and French press. We set extraction by weight ratio, with 1:2 as the starting point. Grind size and dose are dials to adjust, not laws.

Frequently asked questions
How quiet is the Eureka Mignon Specialità?
For its Silent Technology with an anti-vibration system, Eureka states around 20 dB less grinding noise than conventional grinders.
Is the Specialità also suitable for filter coffee?
Yes. Eureka recommends it for Turkish, espresso, moka, drip and French press. For filter, Eureka states a grind output of 2.5 to 3.5 g/s.
What is the ACE system?
ACE stands for Anti-Clump & Electrostaticity. According to Eureka, it prevents clumps in the grounds and regulates the coffee output.
Will I lose my grind setting when cleaning?
No. The stepless adjustment works via the lower burr, so the setting is preserved during maintenance and cleaning. The burr carrier is held by 9 screws.
What can the touch display do?
Two programmable doses by grind time, fine correction with plus and minus, continuous mode and the Extra Dose function. The grind time is shown in seconds.
Can I see the grinder before buying?
Not every model is on display at all times in the Bern and Zurich Oerlikon showrooms. Write to us in advance at [email protected] and we will check whether the Specialità is there.
Roastery tip: For dense, full-bodied espresso from the Specialità, we roast Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight. Very Nutty brings maximum body without acidity. If you want to discover something fruity, you will find it in Wild Peach. Other beans work just as well. That's our recommendation, one of many.
