Flate Barista Station Mini – compact freestanding station with portafilter holder

Two portafilters, a tamper, the milk pitcher and the brush – on just under 20 centimetres of width, within reach next to the machine.

The Barista Station Mini from Flate is the compact version of the freestanding station, made for coffee corners with little space and for everyone who likes it minimalist. It needs no wall mounting, is made of 3 mm powder-coated steel with an oiled magnetic strip of European oak and is manufactured in the EU.

The two holders take two portafilters, or one portafilter and one tamper. According to Flate, the Station Mini is also a good match for machines with an integrated tamper, as they often come with fewer tools.

    Well thought out

The compact shelf holds the milk pitcher and other tools. On the sides of the shelf there are additional notches where you can hang a cleaning brush, for example.

    Magnetic

The oiled oak strip is held in place by integrated magnets, can be positioned freely and removed, and acts as a spacer for your portafilters. Because the station is made of steel, magnetic accessories such as a dosing ring also stick to it.

    Who it is made for

For everyone who wants to organise their coffee corner in a small space without drilling. If you need more storage, you will find the larger station, wall shelves and boards in the Flate collection, and further accessories in our barista equipment. Our opinion is one of many.

What belongs in the station: for everyone who wants an affordable and precise tamper, there are the models from Normcore. If you want more, you will find them at Weber Workshops. Matching pitchers are among the milk pitchers, the machine to go with it among the espresso machines. Our advice tool helps you choose the machine.

    Frequently asked questions

    Which portafilters fit the holder?

Common portafilters and tampers, including those from E61 machines, De’Longhi, Gaggia, Sage/Breville, Bezzera, Rocket, ECM, Elektra, La Marzocco, Lelit, Profitec, Quick Mill and Rancilio.

    Do I need to drill?

No. The station stands freely on the worktop, adhesive pads for a firm footing are included.

How does the Station Mini differ from the Flate Barista Station?

The Station Mini is smaller (H 24.9 × W 19.8 × D 12.3 cm, 2 kg) and has a compact shelf for milk pitcher and tools. The larger Barista Station measures H 37 × W 22.5 × D 15.5 cm and additionally has a hidden accessory compartment on the back.

    Shouldn’t the portafilter stay warm?

A portafilter should not be used cold. Flate recommends moving it from the station into the group head while the machine heats up, or warming it with a short flush.

Can I see the product before I buy it?

In our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) we show a wide selection, but not the entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line before your visit at [email protected], and we will check for you whether the product you have in mind is currently there.

Tip from the roastery: For most people, Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight are a good fit – full-bodied, with chocolate and nuts. For maximum body without acidity there is Very Nutty, for a fruity profile Wild Peach. That is our recommendation, one of many.
