Hario V60 Switch & Match Ceramic Dripper 02 – Pour-Over and Immersion in Ceramic
The ceramic feels heavy and stable in your hand, retains heat and imparts nothing to the coffee – and depending on the base, the water either flows through traditionally or remains for steeping until you release it.
The Switch & Match Ceramic Dripper 02 is the ceramic upper part of Hario's modular system, handcrafted in Japan. With the included black plastic base, you can brew immediately in the classic V60 pour-over; combined with a separate Switch base, it becomes an immersion brewer. We carry Hario at Coffee Coaching Club.
Ceramic from Japan
The densely fired ceramic stores heat and maintains a more stable brewing temperature than glass or plastic – making the extraction more consistent. In terms of taste, ceramic is neutral: it absorbs nothing and releases nothing.
Switch and Match
The upper part can be combined with the colored Switch bases. If you place a Switch base underneath, a steel ball with a lever valve holds the water back: the coffee steeps completely, and at the touch of a button, it drains evenly. This allows you to choose between a clear pour-over cup and a richer immersion – with the same ceramic top.

Who it's for
For everyone who sees their dripper as an everyday object, prefers ceramic over glass or plastic, and wants to keep their options open for pour-over and immersion – as an entry into the Switch & Match system or as an expansion.
What goes with it
You can find a Switch base and filter paper in size 02 in the Hario collection. Additionally, a kettle with temperature control from the Varia collection and a scale – affordable from the Normcore range or with an app from the Acaia collection. It tastes best freshly ground: grinders from the Hand Grinders. Beans like the fruity Wild Peach or the rounded Nutty Delight.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a Switch base to get started?
No. The dripper comes with a black plastic base and brews immediately as a classic V60. The Switch base is optional for immersion mode.
What are the benefits of ceramic over glass or plastic?
Ceramic retains heat best, so the extraction temperature remains more stable. Glass is lighter and shows the flow, plastic is shatterproof and lightweight.
Which filter paper fits?
Hario V60 filter paper in size 02, white or natural. Briefly rinsing the paper reduces the paper taste.
Can I see it before buying?
Gladly. You can experience the dripper live in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon.
Roastery Tip
In pour-over, the dripper reveals light beans particularly clearly – such as the fruity Wild Peach. In immersion mode with a Switch base, more body comes through, beautifully with Nutty Delight. This is our recommendation, one of many.
