Hario V60 Switch & Match Ceramic Dripper 02 – Pour-Over and Immersion in Ceramic
The ceramic sits heavy and steady in your hand, holds the heat, and gives nothing off into the coffee – and depending on the base, the water either runs through in the classic way or stays to steep until you release it.
The Switch & Match Ceramic Dripper 02 is the ceramic top piece from a modular system, handcrafted in Japan. With the included black plastic base, you brew immediately in the classic V60 pour-over style; combined with a separate Switch base, it becomes an immersion brewer. We carry Hario at Coffee Coaching Club.
Ceramic from Japan
The densely fired ceramic stores heat and keeps the brewing temperature more stable than glass or plastic – that makes extraction more even. In terms of taste, ceramic is neutral: it absorbs nothing and gives off nothing.
Switch and Match
The top piece can be combined with the colored Switch bases. If you place a Switch base underneath, a steel ball with a lever valve holds the water back: the coffee steeps fully, and at the push of a button it drains evenly. This way you choose between a clear pour-over cup and a denser immersion – with the same ceramic on top.

Who it's for
For anyone who sees their dripper as a daily object, prefers ceramic over glass or plastic, and wants to keep both pour-over and immersion open – as a way into the Switch & Match system or as an extension to it.
What goes with it
A Switch base and filter paper in size 02 are in the Hario collection. Add a kettle with temperature control from the Varia collection and a scale – affordable from the Normcore range or with an app from the Acaia collection. It tastes best freshly ground: grinders from the Hand Grinders. Beans like the fruity Wild Peach or the round Nutty Delight.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a Switch base to get started?
No. The dripper comes with a black plastic base and brews immediately as a classic V60. The Switch base is optional for immersion mode.
What does ceramic offer over glass or plastic?
Ceramic holds heat the best, so the extraction temperature stays more stable. Glass is lighter and lets you see the flow, plastic is shatterproof and light.
Which filter paper fits?
Hario V60 filter paper in size 02, white or natural. A brief rinse of the paper reduces the papery taste.
Can I see it before buying?
Of course. In Bern and Zürich Oerlikon you can experience the dripper live.
Roastery Tip
In pour-over, the dripper shows light roasts especially clearly – like the fruity Wild Peach. In immersion mode with the Switch base, more body comes through, lovely with Nutty Delight. That's our recommendation, one of many.
