If your afternoon shot suddenly runs faster than in the morning, this grinder automatically adjusts the grind: In conjunction with a compatible La Marzocco machine, the grinder and machine exchange data and keep the extraction time within the desired window.
As an official partner of Mahlkönig, we will set up the E65W GBS for your setup and assist you with the installation. Both the Grind-by-Weight and Grind-by-Sync models are in daily use in our Bern and Zurich locations.
How Grind-by-Sync works
The grinder connects to your espresso machine via Wi-Fi/cloud or USB cable. When you pull an espresso shot, the machine measures the extraction time. If it deviates from the target, the E65W GBS motorized disc distance adjusts by a few micrometers – the next shot is perfect again. This way, extraction remains consistent throughout the day, from cool mornings to warm afternoons.

Sync Compatibility
As a grinder, the E65W GBS works with any espresso machine. The automatic grind adjustment (Sync) works with commercial La Marzocco machines: Linea Classic S, Linea PB, GB5 S, KB90 and Strada (AV/ABR). Linea Mini, Micra and GS3 are not Sync-capable – they can be used as grinders, but without the Sync function.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the E65W GBS also work without Sync?
Yes. It works with any espresso machine as a Grind-by-Weight grinder. The automatic grind adjustment only works with compatible La Marzocco machines.
Do I need Wi-Fi for Sync?
Not necessarily. The grinder can communicate with the machine via Wi-Fi/cloud or via USB cable; the USB option works without internet.
What is the difference between E65S and E65W GBS?
The E65W GBS additionally has motorized grind adjustment and the Sync function with compatible machines. The E65S is adjusted manually, but also steplessly.
Can I see the grinder in person?
Yes, in our showrooms in Bern and Zurich.
