Urnex Grindz – grinder cleaner in tablet form, 430 g
One capful of tablets into the hopper, grind it through once, rinse with beans: Urnex Grindz cleans the burrs and housing of your grinder without you having to take it apart.
The tablets run through the burrs just like coffee beans. According to Urnex, they remove coffee oils, grinding residue and most odours from flavoured coffees along the way. According to the manufacturer, regular cleaning helps extend the life of the grinder. Coffee Coaching Club is the official Swiss importer of Urnex.

Why a grinder needs cleaning
When you grind, fine particles and coffee oils stick to the burrs and the housing. Over time these residues age and end up in every new dose. Grindz picks them up and carries them out of the grinder with the ground material. If you switch between beans, a cleaning gives you a fresh start with clean burrs.
How to use Grindz
First, empty the grinder completely. Then add Grindz to the hopper: one capful (35–40 g) for espresso grinders, two capfuls (70–80 g) for large retail grinders.
Set the grinder to a medium grind size and let the tablets run through completely. To rinse, repeat the steps with coffee beans instead of Grindz. Afterwards, set the grind size back to your setting and check the first shots by brew ratio, with 1:2 as a starting point.
Grindz is intended for standalone espresso and filter grinders, with a hopper or as a single-dose grinder. Urnex excludes Grindz for built-in grinders in bean-to-cup machines and names SuperGrindz for those instead.

Tip from the roastery: A freshly cleaned grinder shows what is in the bean. For most people, Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight are a good fit – full-bodied, with chocolate and nut. For maximum body without acidity there is Very Nutty, for a fruity profile Wild Peach. This is our recommendation, one of many.
