The plastic tray under the grate – small in price, important for drainage
Under the visible grate of the GB5 sits the tray that catches everything and channels it to the drain. It's made of plastic, it's inexpensive, and it hardly ever gets noticed – until it cracks and suddenly there's water where none should be.
Plastic ages under the combination of hot rinse water, cleaning agents and mechanical stress. It becomes brittle, and at a corner that was once pressed too hard, a fine hairline crack forms. It then keeps spreading, often over months. This item carries the part number F.1.002.03.
When it's due
There's water under the machine or in the cabinet below, even though the drain hose is fine. The tray shows a crack or a whitish stress mark. It's warped and no longer sits cleanly. Or the plastic has become so discoloured and roughened that you can no longer get it properly clean.

Important for installation
The tray sits under the grate and therefore right next to the drain and hot lines. Work on the machine switched off and cooled down, and after fitting it, check with a cup of water that everything drains cleanly. We deliberately don't give step-by-step instructions here.

When water turns up under a machine in Bern or Zurich, we always check the plastic tray first and flex it carefully with a thumb. If it sounds dry and crackly, the plastic is brittle and the crack will come anyway – so we replace it right away instead of coming back in three months. Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick line and we'll clarify the fit together. How many groups is this tray for?
Our documentation only states the GB5, without the number of groups. Send us your machine's serial number and we'll check it before you order.
Is the grate included?
No. You get the plastic tray. The grate on top is a separate item.
What colour is the tray?
The number F.1.002.03 has no colour suffix, so we don't claim a colour.
Can I glue a crack instead of replacing the part?
We advise against it. A glued crack in a part that sees hot water and cleaning agents every day rarely lasts long – and behind it sits the machine's electrics.
Can I see the part in your shop?
