Weber Workshops Bean Cellar Shorty – Compact Single-Dosing Tubes
The short version of the Bean Cellar: compact enough to stack many of them in little space, and with up to 30 g big enough for a filter dose – espresso doses fit too.
Coffee Coaching Club is the official Swiss importer of Weber Workshops. The Shorty comes as a set of 10 or 12 tubes with caps, in Frosty or Black.
The Details in Everyday Use
Stackable
Weber designed the Shorty to work on the counter without a rack: the tubes stack on top of each other, for example in rows by origin.
Black from carbon
For the black colour, Weber relies on carbon, which is added to pure virgin polypropylene.
Food-safe materials
The tubes are made of 100% food-safe, BPA-free virgin polypropylene that is highly recyclable and suitable for freezing. Gaskets and valves are made of food-safe TPE and moulded directly onto the cap.
One-way valve instead of vacuum
According to Weber, a vacuum pulls out exactly the aromatics that make fresh coffee what it is. The Shorty therefore uses a one-way valve in the cap: the CO2 from freshly roasted beans is denser than oxygen and pushes the oxygen out through the valve.
Made for BIRD
With up to 30 g, the Shorty also holds larger filter doses. The Weber BIRD travel case fits 12 doses, or 6 doses and a hand grinder.
Freezing and Light
Weber made the Shorty for the counter and for the freezer: portion, freeze and take out as needed. For a stackable freezer tray, Weber provides a 3D print file to download. According to Weber, light does not harm the beans as long as the tubes are not in direct sunlight.

Shorty or Standard
The Shorty is shorter and more compact and, with up to 30 g, also holds a filter dose. The taller standard Bean Cellars, together with caddies and wall rack, are in the Weber Workshops Collection.
Who the Shorty Is For
For everyone who wants to store beans in portions – for the morning espresso, the weekend filter pot or on the go. Single dosing works with any grinder and any budget.
What Goes With It
For anyone who wants single dosing affordable and precise, there are grinders from Varia such as the VS3 or hand grinders from Comandante. If you want more range: the Varia VS6 or the EG-1 from Weber Workshops. You'll find all models among our coffee grinders.
A scale from Normcore helps you weigh the dose; with app and flow-rate display, one from Acaia. For filter coffee, the V60 from Hario or the AeroPress fit; if you want more, you'll find the BIRD at Weber Workshops. Our espresso machine comparison also helps you choose a grinder.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much fits in a Weber Bean Cellar Shorty?
Up to 30 g of a medium roast, so a filter dose and an espresso dose as well.
Can I freeze the Bean Cellar Shorty?
Yes, the Shorty is freezer-safe and stackable, ideal for portioned freezer storage.
What's the difference from the Standard Bean Cellar?
The Shorty is shorter and more compact. The one-way valve principle is the same.
Where can I buy the Bean Cellar Shorty in Switzerland?
At Coffee Coaching Club as the official Swiss importer of Weber Workshops, with 10 or 12 tubes, in Frosty or Black. Online or in Bern and Zurich.
Tip from the roastery: For freezing, fill whole beans and let the tube come to room temperature before opening – this avoids condensation on the coffee. For daily grinding, storage at room temperature out of direct sun is enough. For espresso, we like to portion Cozy Chocolate, Nutty Delight or Very Nutty; for a fruity filter dose, Wild Peach. That's our recommendation, one of many.
