What makes the heat-resistant pad special
The pad is made of non-slip silicone and designed for the Acaia Lunar. Its surface pattern is designed to slow down heat transfer between the carafe and the scale – especially during longer extractions, when a hot vessel rests on the scale for minutes. This protects the sensitive electronics, as temperature affects the weighing mechanism over time and thus accuracy.
The reversible design is practical: one side of the pad offers a quiet, non-slip surface for a carafe or cup during pour over. Flipped over, it adapts to the shape of the portafilter and supports it during dosing. It also harmonizes with the Lunar Base, so you can combine both. A pad is included with every Lunar anyway – a second one in a different color or as a replacement is still practical. Whether you need it is up to you; this is just our view, one of many.

Roastery Tip
When doing pour over, we always leave the pad under the carafe – the scale thanks us over the years with consistent readings. For filter coffee, we like to grind Wild Peach if we want something fruity; otherwise, we stick to Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight – full-bodied, sweet, dense. If you like it full and round without any acidity, stick to Very Nutty. This is our recommendation, one of many, and any bean you enjoy is the right one.
