Acaia Portafilter Dosing Cup Medium – Anti-Static Dosing Cup for 58mm Portafilters
The grinder runs, the grounds fall into the sleek stainless steel cup – and instead of a statically charged cloud spreading across the counter, the powder stays where it belongs. A quick swivel, the cup cleanly tips its grounds into the portafilter, and hardly a crumb is lost.
A simple tool for perhaps the most underestimated part of preparation: the journey from the grinder to the portafilter.
What makes the Acaia Dosing Cup special
The cup is made from food-grade 304 stainless steel and features an anti-static finish: The sandblasted surface prevents static charge from building up during grinding, which would otherwise cause coffee particles to stick to the walls and create small clouds. The result is less loss, less mess, and a smoother process.
Its opening is designed for 58-millimeter portafilters and sits securely on the basket thanks to the continuous rim; many 57mm portafilters also fit. The shorter design compared to previous cups creates space and thus fits under significantly more grinder models – from single-dosing at the grinder to large table grinders like the EK43. A silicone anti-slip pad is included if the cup needs to stand securely during filling. Whether you need something like this is up to you; this is just our perspective, one of many – we use it daily in the shop, in any case.

Frequently asked questions about the Acaia Portafilter Dosing Cup Medium
Which portafilters does the dosing cup fit?
The opening is designed for 58-millimeter portafilters, the most common standard. Thanks to the continuous rim, it also sits securely on many 57mm portafilters.
What does the anti-static coating do?
During grinding, static charge can easily build up, causing coffee particles to stick to the walls and create dust. The sandblasted, anti-static surface reduces this, so less grounds are lost and the process remains cleaner.
Does the cup fit under my grinder?
The shorter design and continuous rim are specifically made to fit under as many grinders as possible, even large models like the Mahlkönig EK43. For very low spouts, a quick check of the available clearance beforehand is advisable.
What material is the cup made of and what is included?
It is made of food-grade 304 stainless steel with an anti-static finish. The scope of delivery includes the dosing cup and a silicone anti-slip pad.
Roastery Tip
We use the dosing cup daily in the shop – a quick spritz of water on the beans before grinding (RDT) and the anti-static finish, and the grounds remain remarkably settled. For the espresso afterwards, we often reach for Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight – full-bodied, sweet, dense. If you like it full and round without any acidity, stick with Very Nutty; for a fruity experience, Wild Peach goes into the grinder. This is our recommendation, one of many, and every bean that tastes good to you is the right one.
