ECM Mechanika MAX Black Edition – Smart HX® Dual Boiler in Matte Black
The same smart technology as the Mechanika MAX, but in understated matte black with chrome accents on the brew group, portafilters, and pressure gauges: The Black Edition is the choice if you want the machine to blend more quietly into your kitchen visually. ECM is a German manufacturer based in Bammental near Heidelberg, crafting their machines by hand in Germany and Italy.
Coffee Coaching Club is ECM's partner in Switzerland. When you purchase an ECM machine, a barista course at our roastery in Bern or at the Zurich Oerlikon showroom is included – in German or English. Swiss warranty and after-sales support are included.

Smart HX® with Flush Advisor and BTC
A sensor on the brew group monitors the temperature, and the Flush Advisor indicates the correct moment for a cooling flush. Brew Temperature Control allows you to set the brewing temperature directly.
Rotary Pump and Fixed Water Connection
Quiet rotary pump, switchable between water tank and fixed water connection (WT/WA). Patented ECM E61 brew group with stainless steel bell, insulated stainless steel boiler with 1.9 liters.

Who it's for
Technically identical to the standard Mechanika MAX – you choose it for its aesthetics. The matte black appears significantly more understated than the polished stainless steel surface.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the technical differences between the Black Edition and the standard MAX?
None. Same Smart HX® architecture, same rotary pump, same PID with BTC, and same E61 brew group. The difference is purely aesthetic.
Can I connect it to the water mains?
Yes. You can switch between the water tank and the fixed water connection using the WT/WA function. We can set this up for you upon delivery if desired.
Is the ECM Flow Profile Kit compatible?
Yes. Thanks to the rotary pump, the Black Edition is compatible with the Flow Profile Kit for the E61 group. Installation is carried out by our technicians in the showroom.
How long does it take to heat up?
Allow approximately 20 minutes. The machine can be programmed to start automatically at your desired time using the timer.
Can I see it before buying?
Certainly. You can see it live in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon. Just let us know, and we'll have it ready.
Roastery Tip
Use the BTC function to adjust the brewing temperature to the bean: higher for fruity specialty roasts, lower for darker beans, and in between for classic blends. If you want more control later, you can add manual flow control with the Flow Profile Kit. That's our recommendation, one of many.
