The rest where your portafilter settles cleanly
The portafilter rest is the piece the portafilter sits on while grinding. It gives it height and angle and holds it steady so the dose lands where it belongs. You only notice it once it is worn – then the portafilter wobbles every time you grind.
The rest is a wear part: it takes metal on plastic, thousands of times. At some point the contact surface is worn in, the material looks greasy and shiny and the portafilter sits lower than before. We stock it individually under part number 300000212. Please note: this is the rest for the portafilter – the different rest for the dosing cup is a separate part.
When it is due
A replacement is worthwhile if:
- the portafilter wobbles or shifts on the rest,
- the contact surface is visibly worn in or has a greasy shine,
- edges have chipped off or material is missing,
- the dose has not been falling centrally into the basket for some time.

Who it is for
For anyone who fills the portafilter directly on their AllGround Sense and notices that the dose no longer sits cleanly. If you work with the dosing cup instead, you need the other rest – if in doubt, drop us a line and we will tell you which one is fitted to your grinder.

When we replace a rest, we then weigh three doses in a row and look at the spread. A fresh rest usually brings the values closer together again because the portafilter sits more steadily – that is our experience from the workshop, not a manufacturer specification. Returns excluded
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for your order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fit on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.

How long does a rest like this last?
That depends on throughput. In a bar, one to two years is normal, at home considerably longer.
Are screws included?
The rest is supplied. The fixing is usually reused.
Can I pick up the part at the showroom?
