On the LEVA and on machines with Smart Steam, this O-Ring sits in the same spot: small, unassuming, but responsible for making sure no pressure escapes sideways during backflushing.
A seal that works quietly – until it doesn't
Rubber seals lose elasticity over time, mainly through repeated heat and pressure. Once an O-Ring turns brittle, it no longer seals completely – an effect that doesn't show up right away but becomes more noticeable with every backflush. Since the backflush screw is moved regularly during daily care, this O-Ring is one of the parts most likely to need replacing.
