Mahlkönig 80 mm Burrs – E80S / E80S GbW
Fresh cutting edges, even grounds, the shot runs like on day one again. Original 80 mm burrs made of hardened special steel for Mahlkönig E80S and E80S GbW.
With every kilogram of coffee, the cutting edges lose a little sharpness. The grounds become less even, and at the same setting the extraction changes. New burrs bring the grinder back to its original state. Particle size and uniformity determine how evenly the water extracts, and with that the body and sweetness in the cup.
The burrs are made of hardened special steel with 64–66 HRC and are glass-bead blasted. According to Mahlkönig, blasting deburrs the cutting edges with the aim of shortening the break-in period of new burrs. To us, burr sets are like engines: subjective, there is no objectively best one. The original burr set keeps the E80S the way Mahlkönig tuned it. Our opinion is one of many.

Frequently asked questions
When should I replace the burrs?
When the grounds become less even, you have to grind finer and finer for the same dose, or the taste fades. Mahlkönig states the lifespan in kilograms of ground coffee, but the figures are not consistent. That is why we do not name a fixed value.
Do the burrs fit the E80S GbW?
Yes. The burrs with part number 701619 fit the Mahlkönig E80S and the E80S GbW.
Do they also fit the Mahlkönig Peak?
No. For the Peak, Mahlkönig specifies its own burr set.
Can I see the burrs before buying?
You can see Mahlkönig grinders live in the Zurich Oerlikon showroom (Hagenholzstrasse 50b). You can pick up the burrs via Click & Collect in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) or Zurich.
