Normcore Tamper Pressure-Regulating Titanium PVD Walnut
Warm walnut in the palm of your hand, beneath it the rich anthracite of the PVD layer. You guide the tamper into the basket, feel the defined resistance of the spring, hear the quiet click – and the wood feels as if it belongs in your hand.
The same spring-loaded mechanism as the classic pressure-regulating tamper, with a handle of North American walnut and titanium PVD coating.
What makes this tamper special
The mechanics stay the same: a pre-calibrated spring always releases the same force once it triggers, the self-levelling plate rests on the basket edge and makes the tamp level. Three interchangeable springs are included – 15 lb, 25 lb and 30 lb, with the middle one already installed. When tamping, you press and turn clockwise at the same time, for the most even result.
The handle is made of North American walnut, each one a little different in grain. The titanium PVD coating on the stainless steel is anti-static, harder than the steel beneath and corrosion-resistant – and it noticeably reduces the coffee that sticks to the tool after the tamp. Whether you prefer the plain or the wood-handled version stays a matter of taste, and that is just our view, one of many.

Which size for which machine
53.3 mm fits Breville and Sage machines with a 54 mm portafilter. 58.5 mm fits the common 58 mm portafilters of most espresso machines, such as those from La Marzocco, Rocket, ECM, Profitec or Lelit. The 58.5 mm version is also available with a flat base. With us, every coffee path is welcome.
