Normcore Tamper and Distributor Leveler 58.5 mm
First one side: a few gentle turns, and the coffee grounds lie flat in the basket. Then you flip the tool, press, and the puck compresses evenly. Two steps, one tool – the bed is ready before the water comes.
A 2-in-1 tool that combines distribution and tamping in one body.
What makes this distributor and tamper special
Evenly distributed, level coffee grounds are the first step to a smooth extraction. The distributor side levels the surface before the tamper side compacts the puck. Both sides are height-adjustable, allowing you to adapt the depth to your dose – the distributor side up to 12 mm, the tamper side up to 14 mm.
The tool is made of anodized aluminum and stainless steel and fits common 58mm portafilters, including those with VST and IMS precision baskets. A well-filled basket is important: only then will the distributor side reach the coffee grounds cleanly. Whether you prefer a 2-in-1 tool or separate tools is a matter of taste, and this is just our view, one of many.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Normcore Distributor and Tamper

It fits common 58mm portafilters of most espresso machines, including those with VST and IMS precision baskets. A well-filled basket is important so that the distributor side reaches the coffee grounds.
Can I see the tool before buying?

Roastery Tip
An even bed before tamping helps every bean. For dense, sweet espresso, we love Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight. If you like it full-bodied and round without any acidity, stick with Very Nutty; for a fruity experience, Wild Peach goes into the grinder. This is our recommendation, one of many, and every bean you enjoy is the right one.
