Profitec Pro 500 QS – dual boiler with E61
A solid E61 group head, a large water tank, and a removable cup tray that makes refilling easy: the Pro 500 QS is a classic dual boiler that keeps everyday use simple. Thanks to its thermosyphon system, it draws fresh tank water for each shot – from Profitec, a German manufacturer based in Bammental near Heidelberg, handcrafted in Germany and Italy.
Coffee Coaching Club is a partner of Profitec in Switzerland. A barista course at our roastery in Bern or at the Zürich Oerlikon showroom can be booked separately – in German or English. Swiss warranty and support after purchase included.
All features at a glance
Solid E61 group head
The high-quality E61 group head weighs around 4.5 kg and keeps the temperature stable. As a dual boiler, you can brew and steam at the same time.
Quick-Steam and No-Burn
The Quick-Steam valves deliver steam quickly, while the No-Burn steam and hot water wands stay cool on the outside and are easier to clean, since milk barely sticks to them.
Thermosyphon and boiler
The thermosyphon system draws fresh water from the tank for espresso, not water from the boiler. Stainless steel boiler, 2 litres, insulated, 1400-watt heating element, vibration pump.
Ease of use
Large 3-litre water tank with adapter, removable cup tray for easy refilling, boiler and pump pressure gauges, automatic shut-off and indicator light for low water. Weight around 23 kg.

Frequently asked questions
What does Quick-Steam mean?

What is the thermosyphon system?
It draws fresh water from the tank through the group head for extraction, instead of using water from the hot boiler. This keeps the taste clean.
How long does heating up take?
Plan for around 20 minutes so the E61 group head reaches a stable temperature.
Can I see it before buying?
Of course – you can see it live in Bern and Zürich Oerlikon. Just let us know, and we'll have it ready for you.
Is the barista course included?
A private barista course can be booked separately.
Roastery tip
With an E61 dual boiler, it's worth running a short blank shot through the group head before your first extraction, so the water doesn't run too hot into the portafilter. We'll show you the technique in the course. That's our recommendation, one of many.
