Tip from our café
In our experience behind the bar in Bern the knock bar lasts noticeably longer if you do not strike the portafilter down from above but set it sideways and pull through briefly. That is easier on the portafilter handle too. To dial the shot back in afterwards we like Nutty Delight as a reliable reference, Cozy Chocolate for dense chocolate notes and Very Nutty when you want maximum body. All roasts under coffee beans.

Is the knock box included?
No. You receive the replacement bar only. We sell the box separately.
Does the bar fit a knock box from another brand?
It is intended for the Rocket knock box. On other models the length and the mounting differ – drop us a line telling us which box you have and we will check it for you.
Do I need tools to fit it?
Usually not. The bar is set into the mounts of the box; on some versions light pressure with the palm of your hand helps.
When is it worth replacing?
As soon as the bar wobbles, turns with the knock or the rubber is torn. Either way the puck no longer comes off cleanly and coffee grounds end up on the counter.
Can I see the part in the showroom?
Yes, in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) you can see it in person.
