Weber Workshops Steam Dial – Variable Orifice Steam Tip
The steam tip is one of the most overlooked parts of an espresso machine. How much milk is in the pitcher, the size of the steam boiler, how wide the tip's orifice – all of these determine how fine the foam will be. The Steam Dial puts precisely this control in your hands: you can continuously adjust the steam flow with the ring.
Coffee Coaching Club is the exclusive Swiss importer for Weber Workshops.
What the Steam Dial Does
Instead of a fixed drilled tip, the Steam Dial has a variable orifice. This allows you to adjust the steam to your machine and the amount of milk: wider open for more power with larger quantities, narrower for fine control with small quantities. This helps with even milk swirling and makes achieving fine microfoam more reproducible.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Steam Dial fit my machine?
The base thread is 1/8 BSPT with 28 TPI (male) and fits directly onto machines such as La Marzocco GS3, Nuova Simonelli Oscar, and Slayer. Adapters are available for many other machines. Please check the thread specification of your steam tip before purchasing.
Do I absolutely need an adapter?
Only if your machine's thread does not match the base thread. You select the appropriate adapter from the table above based on your machine.
Does the Steam Dial automatically make better foam?
It gives you more control over the steam flow. Good milk and technique remain crucial – the Steam Dial makes adjustment easier and more repeatable.
Roastery Tip
For small machines with weak boilers, a narrower opening helps: you gain time to swirl the milk cleanly instead of it immediately boiling over. For powerful machines, the opening can be wider. Experiment with the settings on a quiet afternoon – you'll quickly get a feel for it. This is our recommendation, one of many.
