Weber Workshops Spring Clean (Transparent) – Backflush Tool for 58mm
Backflushing is important, but with a blind basket and multiple on/off cycles, it's annoying enough that you'd rather put it off. The Spring Clean turns this into a single operation: clamp it in, start the brew, and the spring-loaded reservoir pushes the collected water back through the brew group and 3-way valve under pressure. With the transparent version, you can see live what is being flushed out.

How the Spring Clean works
The tool clamps in like a piston. The brew water fills the 200ml reservoir; when you stop the brew, the spring pushes the entire volume back through the brew group, the 3-way valve, and into the drip tray – about twenty times the amount of water of a conventional backflush shot, in one go.
What makes this version special
It is made of food-safe, BPA- and PFOA-free polymer with a silicone piston and an integrated stainless steel safety valve that releases at around 1 bar. The transparent housing allows you to observe the cleaning process. The more robust, lifelong stainless steel version is available separately as Metal Spring Clean.

Suitable for 58mm machines with a 3-way valve – this includes most E61 machines as well as La Marzocco, Slayer, Synesso, Rocket, ECM, Profitec, and many others. Machines without a 3-way valve, such as some single boiler machines, cannot be backflushed.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Spring Clean fit my machine?
On 58mm machines with a 3-way valve, meaning most E61 machines as well as La Marzocco, Slayer, Synesso, Rocket, ECM, and Profitec. Machines without a 3-way valve generally cannot be backflushed.
How often should I backflush?
We recommend daily with clear water and additionally with a cleaner approximately every 50 shots. This prevents old coffee oils from accumulating in the brew group.
Which cleaning agent can I use?
Common backflush cleaners such as Cafiza or Urnex. One cycle with cleaner, rinse, then one cycle with clear water.
Does it replace maintenance by a technician?
No, but it reduces it. The brew group and 3-way valve remain clean; seals, pump, and boiler still require maintenance according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Roastery Tip
Coffee oils become rancid over time and deposit in the brew group and valve – this imparts a dull note that has nothing to do with your bean. If you're brewing several different beans in a row, a quick flush will remove the remnants of the previous one. This is our recommendation, one of many.
