The crank arm is the element you guide when grinding. It sits centrally on the axle and directly transfers your hand movement to the grinding cone. A simple part with a big job: without it, the grinder stands still.
It's intended as a single part — as a replacement if the old one is bent or lost, or as a second crank for another grinding setup. The matching crank lid and a wooden knob can be chosen freely, so you can assemble your crank exactly as it feels right to you.
This is where the beauty of a hand grinder begins: it's not a closed device, but one that you make your own, part by part. Our opinion is one of many — but a grinder that you assemble yourself grinds somehow more beautifully.

For anyone with a Comandante C40 who needs a replacement or wants to rebuild their crank. Whether for repair or as a basis for a second, individually equipped crank — the crank arm is the starting point.
The matching crank lid in clear or dark, as well as wooden knobs in oak and beech, can be found in Comandante Accessories and Spare Parts. The grinders themselves — from the affordable C40 to the larger C60 Baracuda — are under Hand Grinders, with more models under Coffee Grinders.
Yes. It is made for the Comandante C40 in MK3 and MK4.
No. This is the crank arm as a single part. You choose the crank lid (clear or dark) and the wooden knob separately — this way you assemble your crank yourself.
With this item, you only receive the arm. If you want both the arm and the lid together, you can also find the combined version with us.

From our coffee roastery: When the crank is running smoothly again, freshly ground coffee tastes best. Most people reach for Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight for a dense, round cup profile. If you like nutty and acidity-free, try Very Nutty; for a fruity discovery, there's Wild Peach. That's our recommendation, one of many.
