The stainless steel central axis transfers every turn directly to the grinder. It guides the cone cleanly in alignment, ensuring particles fall evenly—and it's precisely this evenness that creates a clear, balanced cup profile.
The C60 Baracuda uses the larger GX50 drive and its own geometry. This axis is precisely designed for it and fits exclusively into the C60—not the classic C40. Stainless steel means dimensional stability for years: the axis maintains its alignment, even after thousands of rotations.
Anyone who maintains their grinder will eventually disassemble it down to the axis. A spare part like this keeps a tool alive that is built for a lifetime of coffee. Our opinion is one of many—but good equipment deserves good spare parts.

For anyone with a Comandante C60 Baracuda who needs a spare part or wants to completely disassemble their grinder for cleaning and maintenance. Whether you grind daily for filter coffee or on weekends for espresso—the axis is one of those parts you learn once and then never have to search for again.
You can find the grinder itself among our hand grinders—from the affordable Comandante C40 to the larger C60 Baracuda. Further parts and knobs are available in Comandante Accessories and Spare Parts, and more about grinding can be found under Coffee Grinders.
No. This axis is built exclusively for the C60 Baracuda. The C40 MK3 and MK4 use their own central axis.
Stainless steel—dimensionally stable, corrosion-resistant, and designed for the lifetime of the grinder.
Mostly during a thorough cleaning, when reassembling after disassembly, or if a part was lost. In everyday use, the axis usually remains untouched.
Yes. You can experience Comandante live in our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b). You can buy online at any time, with delivery in 2–4 working days to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
From our coffee roastery: A freshly serviced grinder deserves fresh beans. For a dense, chocolatey cup profile, most reach for Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight. If you like it nutty and without acidity, choose Very Nutty; for fruity discoveries, there's Wild Peach. This is our recommendation, one of many.
