Mahlkönig E80 GBW – 80 mm Espresso Grinder with Grind-by-Weight
Insert the portafilter, the grinder recognizes it, grinds and stops at the target weight. The Mahlkönig E80 GBW (at Mahlkönig: E80S GbW) doses by weight, without a separate scale.
It combines the 80 mm burr set of the E80 series with a load cell that measures the dose while grinding. Built for cafés with high throughput. Coffee Coaching Club is a partner of Mahlkönig, with showrooms in Bern and Zurich.
What sets the E80 GBW apart
Powerful motor with active temperature control
According to Mahlkönig, the motor with active temperature control keeps up even at peak times, protects the coffee aroma and grinds pleasantly quietly.
Grind profile of the 80 mm burrs
Size, material and geometry of the burrs determine the grind profile. The E80 GBW grinds with 80 mm special steel burrs featuring a tooth geometry developed in-house by Mahlkönig.
The details in daily use
Grind-by-Weight
A high-precision load cell controls the dose in real time while grinding. The grinder monitors its output and adjusts itself to hit the target weight consistently.
Portafilter recognition
The grinder recognizes recipe presets for up to six portafilters and automatically delivers the assigned dose. This saves time and simplifies onboarding in the team.
Disc Distance Detection (DDD)
The grind size is set via the actual distance between the burrs (patented). This way, a setting can be found again exactly.
Illuminated, adjustable chute
The chute guides the grounds cleanly and centered into the portafilter.
Display with wide viewing angle
High-resolution display with an 88.3 mm diagonal, readable from a wide angle.
With espresso, there is no right or wrong. A common starting point is a ratio of 1:2, around 18 g of ground coffee to 36 g of espresso, measured by weight, not by time. Our opinion is one of many.
