MHW-3BOMBER BEP Precision Basket 54 mm 15 g – dual-layer filter basket
Freshly ground coffee drops into the compact 54 mm group head, you level it off and tamp – and as the shot pulls, the espresso runs through calm and clear. Inside the basket, hundreds of fine, laser-drilled holes do their work.
Nobody needs a new basket. Wanting one, or not, is entirely a matter of curiosity, and we respect that decision either way.
What makes this basket special
The BEP – Butterfly Effect Power – works with dual-layer filtration: two stacked layers of holes catch fine particles before they reach the cup, for a clearer cup with fewer fines. The finely laser-cut holes, each 0.16 mm, distribute the water evenly across the puck.
The base is reinforced and barely flexes under pressure – that flexing is a common cause of channeling in the coffee bed. Straight walls and a flat bottom help with even tamping. We like to work with a 1:2 ratio and let the weight decide, not the stopwatch. It's our observation that the choice of basket fundamentally changes the aroma profile – that's our view, one of many.

Who it's for
For anyone with a 54 mm group head, as used on many Sage and Breville machines, who likes a clear cup with few fines. Every budget is welcome, and you belong here because you love coffee – not because you run a particular basket.
What goes with it
Even distribution before the shot comes from a distribution tool and tamper in the matching 54 mm size – affordable and precise from Normcore, with more material ambition from Weber Workshops.

Roastery tip
A clean basket helps, but the bean makes the flavor. For dense, sweet espresso, we like to reach for Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight. If you like it full and round without any acidity, stick with Very Nutty; for a fruity experience, Wild Peach goes into the grinder. That's our recommendation, one of many.
