MHW-3BOMBER Gravity Leveler – gravity distributor with cyclone base
The tool goes onto the portafilter – let go, and it sinks down under its own weight while the base turns and spreads the grounds in a fine swirl. No pressing too hard, no tilting to get right: gravity does the work, and the bed sits level.
A distributor that levels the grounds evenly using nothing but its own weight.
How the Gravity Leveler works
Instead of applying pressure by hand, this tool uses gravity: it lowers itself, and the cyclone base spreads the grounds like a small swirl – more evenly than the classic four-blade distributors. This creates a level surface without you pressing too hard and unintentionally compacting the grounds early.
The base adapts to the amount of grounds, so the distribution stays even no matter how full the basket is. Bearings inside keep the rotation smooth and fast. The ring between lid and base lets you set the height and, with it, the distribution depth. Espresso is a craft, not a law. Our opinion is one of many.

Who it's for
For anyone who wants to distribute their grounds evenly without compacting them in the process. The gravity mechanism makes the motion calm and repeatable – especially for anyone who values a consistent result.
What you pair it with
A distributor works together with a tamper and a WDT tool. Tampers, WDT tools and puck screens are available affordably in the Normcore Collection and especially finely crafted in the Weber Workshops Collection; more tools are in our Tamper Collection.
And because an even bed only pays off with the right machine, it's worth a look at our espresso machines – supported by our advisory tool.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does gravity distributor mean?
The tool doesn't actively compact the grounds; instead it lowers under its own weight and distributes them evenly as it goes. This keeps you from pressing too hard before you actually tamp.
What does the cyclone base do?
It spreads the grounds in a fine swirl instead of using rigid blades – this results in a more even, level surface.
Can I adjust the depth?
Yes. The ring between lid and base lets you set the height and, with it, how deep the distribution goes.
Can I see the tool in person before buying?
Absolutely – come experience it live in our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zürich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b). Online, we deliver in 2–4 business days, across Switzerland and to Liechtenstein.
Tip from our coffee roastery
An even, level distribution really shows with body-rich, sweet roasts. Our Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight taste round and are forgiving. For maximum body without any acidity, go for the Very Nutty, for a fruity experience, the Wild Peach. That's our recommendation – one of many.
