Swiss Espresso Machines
Buy Swiss espresso machines – Olympia Express, Manument, Eversys
Switzerland does not have a large espresso machine industry like Italy or Germany. What it does have is small, high-quality, and with a clear identity. Three manufacturers dominate the segment: Olympia Express in Aargau, Manument in Thun, and Eversys in Valais. Each covers a completely different segment – from classic home lever tradition since the 1950s to high-end lever innovation with patented technology, and premium super-automatics for gastronomy.
What connects the three: Swiss manufacturing precision, decades of repairability, and a direct service network in the country. What differentiates them: Olympia Express is home lever tradition since the 1950s, Manument is high-end lever innovation since 2018, Eversys is a super-automatic manufacturer for gastronomy since 2009. Coffee Coaching Club is the Swiss partner for all three manufacturers and directly carries their range.
Olympia Express – Swiss Lever Tradition since the 1950s
Olympia Express is the Swiss manufacturer for classic home lever machines. Made in Aargau (Hägendorf). The Cremina (Direct-Lever manual lever machine) has been in production since 1961 and its basic design is almost unchanged – a true icon of the home espresso world. Repairability after 30+ years is standard: an Olympia Express service in Switzerland is uncomplicated, original spare parts are available.
Olympia Express Cremina Swiss Manual Lever – from CHF 3,679
The classic direct-lever machine. You press directly against the water resistance with your hand, without a coiled spring. Maximum control over pressure and speed. 49mm portafilter, copper boiler, classic Swiss manufacturing design. The Cremina has been in production almost unchanged since 1961 – proof that the design works.
Olympia Express Cremina SL Swiss Manual Lever – from CHF 3,829
The modern version of the Cremina. SL stands for Side-Lever – the revised design with updated ergonomics and finer details, but based on the same direct-lever principle as the classic Cremina.
Olympia Express Maximatic – from CHF 3,989
The smallest heat exchanger machine in the Olympia range. Semi-automatic variant with pump and lever – you don't need to apply the hand power yourself as with the Cremina, but you benefit from the same Swiss manufacturing design and repairability.
Olympia Express Mina Manual – from CHF 969
The manual travel machine from Olympia Express. Compact, without electricity, for on the go or as a backup. Small in size, with the same Swiss design philosophy as the larger models.
Manument – Swiss High-End Lever Innovation since 2018
Manument is the young Swiss manufacturer from Thun (BE). Founded in 2018, production fully in its own factory in Thun since March 2026. The concept is a reinterpretation of the spring-lever principle with state-of-the-art heating technology: instead of a classic boiler, the Manument has two independent flow heaters (patented Multi-Flow-Heater system). James Hoffmann describes it as "the Swiss watch of lever machines".
Manument Leva – from CHF 17,999
Spring-Piston-Lever machine with patented Multi-Flow-Heater system (two independent flow heaters instead of a boiler), manual five-stage water flow valve, 54mm portafilter, 44 kg, over 590 individual parts (all accessible and repairable). Immediately ready for use, no 15–20 minute warm-up ritual like with classic boiler-lever machines.
Special ordering process: due to the hand-manufacturing in Thun with limited monthly quantities, Manument works with waiting lists. We coordinate the order directly with the manufacturer and communicate waiting times transparently.
Eversys – Swiss Super-Automatic Manufacturer since 2009
Eversys is the Swiss manufacturer for premium super-automatics. Founded in 2009 in Sierre (Valais) by Jean-Paul In-Albon and Robert Bircher, fully owned by the DeLonghi Group since 2021, but continues to manufacture in Switzerland. Eversys bridges the gap between professional 2-group machines and classic super-automatics: it produces espresso of nearly professional quality, fully automated.
Eversys Legacy – from CHF 14,319
Compact professional super-automatic with espresso quality close to a Linea PB. Remote service via e'Connect – the machine is monitored online and can be maintained remotely. Suitable for offices, small cafés, and hotels where barista staff are not continuously on site. Maintenance and service through the Swiss network or remotely.

What connects Swiss machines – and how they differ from Italian ones
Three characteristics define Swiss espresso machines compared to the dominant Italian competition. Firstly, the manufacturing mentality: Olympia Express and Manument are small, hand-crafted, with limited quantities. Even Eversys operates as a technological manufacturer with a clear Swiss manufacturing tradition. This is different from Italian volume manufacturers. Secondly, repairability: Repairing an Olympia Cremina after 30 years is standard. Manument has 590+ individual parts, each replaceable. Eversys has a remote service architecture for lifetime maintenance. Thirdly, the service network in the country: Swiss service partners, short distances, original spare parts available directly from Switzerland or via CCC.
For alternative designs: Italian espresso machines (La Marzocco, Rocket, Bezzera, Lelit), German espresso machines (ECM, Profitec). Swiss is a small, distinct league – you decide.
Service in Switzerland
Olympia Express service runs through the manufacturer in Aargau or through us. Olympia has been providing service and general overhauls for Cremina, Cremina SL, Maximatic, and Mina for decades. Manument service directly in Thun, with our coordination for warranty claims and maintenance. Eversys service via Remote (e'Connect) and Swiss service partners, often even before a service incident through automated diagnostics.
In the showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich Oerlikon (Hagenholzstrasse 50b), you can test Olympia Cremina and Manument Leva live – a lever pull with your preferred bean. Eversys Legacy as a demo unit on request. Please arrange an appointment beforehand.
What goes well with it
For the grinder (Olympia Cremina needs precise grinding due to direct-lever): Eureka Mignon Specialita, Lelit William, Mahlkönig X54 or a good hand grinder like Kinu M47, 1Zpresso J-Ultra. Frequently Asked Questions
What differentiates Olympia Cremina from an Italian lever machine?
The Cremina is a Direct-Lever (piston-lever) machine – you press directly against the water resistance with your hand, without a coiled spring. Most Italian lever machines (La Marzocco Leva X, Bezzera Strega) and also the Manument are spring-lever with a spring mechanism. Direct-Lever gives you maximum control over pressure and speed, but also demands maximum technique. Spring-Lever has a predefined pressure curve (peak around 9 bar, then decline) – more reproducible, but less hands-on control.
Manument or Olympia Cremina?
Two different Swiss lever philosophies. Olympia Cremina: Direct-Lever, classic boiler, 49mm portafilter, suitable for home kitchens, almost unchanged since 1961. Price range CHF 3,679–3,829. Manument Leva: Spring-Piston-Lever, Multi-Flow-Heater (no boiler), 54mm portafilter, immediately ready for use, manual five-stage water flow valve. Price CHF 17,999. You can pull both in the showroom and decide.
How long is the delivery time for a Manument?
Varies. Manument manufactures by hand in Thun, with limited monthly quantities. We clarify current waiting times directly with the manufacturer when ordering and communicate them transparently. Experience shows it's between a few weeks and several months.
Is the Eversys Legacy worth it for a small café?
If you need 30–100 extractions per day with consistent quality without barista staff: yes. The Legacy delivers espresso of a quality that beats many classic machines with trained operators. For an authentic specialty café experience with a barista show, a La Marzocco or Slayer is a better choice.
Are Swiss machines more expensive than Italian ones?
In the lever segment, yes, especially Manument (CHF 17,999 compared to classic Italian lever machines from around CHF 4,000). Olympia Cremina is in the higher price range (around CHF 3,679–3,829). This reflects the small quantities, manufacturing production, and repairability over decades. Eversys Legacy is often competitively priced compared to classic professional 2-group machines.
Which grinder suits an Olympia Cremina?
The Cremina grinds direct-lever, meaning the grind size must be precise. Recommendations: Eureka Mignon Specialita, Lelit William, Mahlkönig X54, or a good hand grinder (Kinu M47, 1Zpresso J-Ultra). In the showroom, we can help with grind size adjustment on the Cremina.
Which grinder suits the Manument Leva?
The Manument has a 54mm portafilter. Premium grinders like Weber Workshops EG-1, Option-O Lagom P80, Varia VS6 or Mahlkönig E64 WS are the typical companions. Light single origins require finer grinders and more targeted adjustments – which plays directly into the strengths of the Manument.
Can I test Swiss machines before buying?
Yes, in the showrooms in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon. Olympia Cremina and Manument Leva are live and ready. Eversys Legacy as a demo unit on request. Please arrange an appointment beforehand, then the desired machine will be preheated.
What is the service and spare parts situation in Switzerland?
For all three brands, Swiss service partners offer direct connections. Olympia: Service in Aargau established for decades. Manument: Service directly in Thun. Eversys: Remote service via e'Connect plus Swiss service network. Original spare parts are available via CCC or directly from the manufacturer – no long shipping routes from abroad.
