ECM milk pitcher 450 ml Heritage Line – milk pitcher with a copper look
The milk spins, grows denser, and in the warm copper tone of the pitcher you see the whirlpool before the hiss grows quieter.
450 millilitres is the size at which a pitcher still sits lightly in the hand while leaving enough room for the milk to spin properly as you froth it. On the inside there's a marking that lets you measure the amount beforehand instead of guessing – the simplest way to consistent foam.
Why the pitcher changes the taste
The spout is shaped for latte art, the handle ergonomically designed. Both affect the movement of your hand and therefore what ends up in the cup. The second effect is more interesting: vessel, colour and material measurably change our perception. The same milk from a copper-coloured pitcher is anticipated differently than from plain stainless steel, and because dopamine is already released during anticipation, that expectation is part of the experience.
Then there's temperature. It decides which compounds dissolve and how sweet the milk tastes – higher gives more body, lower more aroma. A pitcher whose wall you can feel clearly helps you more than any number.
Heritage Line
The Heritage Line is ECM's version with copper accents. The pitcher picks up this tone: stainless steel inside, copper look outside. That makes it a match for the machines in this line, but it looks just as good next to any other. Nobody needs a copper-look pitcher. You want one – or you don't, and both are completely fine. Our opinion is one of many.

Who it's for
For anyone who makes cappuccino or flat white at home and doesn't want to froth too much milk every time. The marking on the inside takes the guesswork out of the routine.
And for anyone just starting to pour latte art. The shaped spout makes the first attempts calmer – not because it does it for you, but because it focuses the stream. No budget is just a beginning here, and there's no right or wrong.
What goes well with it
Milk foam depends on the espresso beneath it, and that depends on the grinder. Among our coffee grinders you'll find both routes: affordable and precise, the VS3 from the Varia collection or a hand grinder from Comandante; if you want to invest more, the VS6, the EG-1 from Weber Workshops or a Lagom from Option-O. Burr sets are like car engines – subjective, there's no best one.
A coffee scale belongs next to it, so that the brew ratio leads and not the clock: compact and reliable from Normcore, with an app and flow-rate display from Acaia. You'll find the matching machines in our selection of espresso machines.
Frequently asked questions
How many cups is the pitcher enough for?
That depends on the size of your cups. The marking on the inside helps you measure the amount beforehand instead of guessing – so less milk is left over.
What does Heritage Line mean?
Heritage Line is ECM's version with copper accents. The pitcher has a copper look on the outside and matches the colour of the machines in this line.
Can the pitcher go in the dishwasher?
No, it's cleaned by hand. That preserves the copper look.
What other sizes does ECM offer?
ECM also offers two pitchers in plain stainless steel, with 360 ml and 600 ml. This one is the 450 ml version with a copper look.
Can I see the product before buying?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there. If you order online, delivery takes 2 to 4 working days throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein.
From the roastery
Dense, sweet roasts come through best in milk. Cozy Chocolate brings chocolate and caramel, Nutty Delight nuts and a long finish – both hold their own against milk without getting lost. Very Nutty gives maximum body without acidity, Wild Peach is the fruity discovery for anyone looking for something different in their cappuccino. Our recommendation, one of many.
