Fiorenzato Dark T burrs – your F64 EVO grinds again the way it did at the start
Burrs are the heart of every grinder and, at the same time, a wear part. They do not go blunt suddenly, but slowly. That is why you rarely notice it on the machine, but in the cup: the shot runs through faster even though you have set it finer. The sweetness is lost, the bitterness stays. The distribution in the basket becomes more uneven because more fines are produced.
With fresh burrs, both come back: a grind setting that is once again spread cleanly across the adjustment range, and a shot that runs the same again at the same setting. The manufacturer lists this version as Dark T.
When it is due
When you keep setting the grind finer and finer to hold the same flow time. When grinding takes longer than it used to and the grinder gets warmer. When the ground coffee looks dustier and clumps more. And when the cutting edges have visibly become rounded – with espresso burrs this usually happens somewhere in the mid kilo range, depending on the roast and the volume.

Important for installation
The burrs sit in the grinding mechanism. To change them, the grinder is opened and disconnected from the mains beforehand. After installation, the grind setting has to be readjusted and the zero point found. We recommend installation by a qualified professional and can take care of it in our workshop on request.
Who it is for
For businesses with an F64 EVO that has ground serious volumes over the years. And for anyone who has taken over a used grinder and does not know how many kilos the old burrs have already seen – in that case, a change is almost always the quickest improvement.
What goes with it
When servicing the grinding mechanism, the Burrs Thickness Kit belongs in the same order if your service document calls for it. We carry the grinder itself as the F64 EVO Sense PRO. For cleaning the grinding mechanism, see machine and grinder cleaning, and everything else under Fiorenzato.
Tip from our workshop
New burrs need a run-in. After the change, we grind a few hundred grams of inexpensive beans before judging the first espresso – before that, the edges are still too sharp and the result is misleading. This is our routine in Bern and Zurich, not a manufacturer specification. For the dialling-in that follows, we use Nutty Delight, for chocolatey notes Cozy Chocolate and for body Very Nutty. All roasts under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
What does Dark T mean?
Dark T is the manufacturer’s version name for these burrs. If you are not sure which variant is in your grinder, send us the serial number.
Do I get both burrs?
The item is defined by the two part numbers MP64ER003/R and MP64E001/R. We are happy to confirm exactly what will be delivered before you order.
After how many kilos should I change them?
There is no fixed value that applies to everyone. Volume, roast level and grind setting all play a part. We are happy to look at your extraction times and tell you whether a change is due.
Can I change the burrs myself?
The change belongs in experienced hands, because the zero point has to be found again afterwards. We can take care of it on request.
Can I see the part in the showroom?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.
