Flair 49 PRO Dosing Funnel – the grounds stay where they belong
The grinder winds down, you gently tap out the cup, and the grounds trickle into a small black funnel instead of over the edge onto the counter. A tiny part that brings a little calm to your morning: no wiping, no lost gram, just a clean basket.
The Dosing Funnel from Flair Espresso sits in the rim of the Flair 49 PRO portafilter and guides the grounds into the basket as you fill it. It comes with the machine, and here you can get it on its own as a replacement or as a second funnel. The details in everyday use
Insert, fill, remove
You set the funnel in the rim of the portafilter, add the grounds and take it off again. Then you carry on as usual with distributing and tamping. On the Flair 49 PRO, that means the grounds land in the basket, not next to it.
Not to be confused with: the Magnetic Funnel
For the 49 PRO, Flair also offers a Magnetic Funnel that holds with magnets and lets the tamper pass through. This one is the simple Dosing Funnel that also comes with the machine.
Espresso by taste, not by the clock
When no gram gets lost, the dose you weighed is also the dose in the basket. We grind fine, start at 14.5 g and work our way up with the dose, usually to 17 g, at a ratio below 1:2 and always by weight. If an espresso tastes too sour or too bitter, in our experience a little more coffee often helps. There are no espresso police – the coffee just has to taste good to you.

Does the Dosing Funnel also fit other Flair models?
Flair specifies it for the Flair 49 PRO portafilter. For the Flair PRO and PRO 2 we carry the Flair Dosing Funnel Pro, and for the Classic and Signature the Flair Filling Funnel.
What is the difference from the Flair 49 PRO Magnetic Funnel?
The Magnetic Funnel holds with magnets, and the tamper fits through it. The Dosing Funnel is the simple funnel that sits in the rim of the portafilter and comes with the machine.
Grounds still miss the basket when I fill it – what is causing it?
Often it is static charge from grinding: the grounds then cling to the cup and jump when you tap it out. Can I see the Flair 49 PRO Dosing Funnel in person before buying?
That depends on whether the Dosing Funnel is on display at the moment. In our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zürich Oerlikon (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) we show a large selection, but not the whole range – it is too big for that, and the display changes.
