Shape: Cylindrical with curved bottom.
The shape was designed by IMS to get the right ratio between the bottom and height of the puck in terms of capacity. The cylindrical insert has special rounded corners on the bottom. This shape ensures that the entire puck is used. This also makes drying and knocking out easier.
Perforation: IMS' exclusive perforation is patented. Perforated area: Ø 49 mm. Optimized area in relation to the shape of the portafilter. Number of holes: 715, micro-pitch (E). The number and distribution of the holes is designed to balance the coffee flow in relation to the height and shape of the filter and the perforated area.
Hole diameter: 0.30 mm. Shape of holes: Circular with conical cross-section. Competition holes: Re-coated and calibrated.
