IMS makes the screen from a single piece of stainless steel, photo-etched, with an integrated membrane and 200 µm openings. The Nanotech coating is water-repellent, so fewer coffee grounds stick to it and the screen is easier to clean.
Even distribution means that the soluble compounds are dissolved to a similar degree across the whole puck. That does not automatically make a shot better, but more reproducible. No two shots are alike: the bean, the humidity and how you feel on the day change. What counts is what tastes good in the cup.

Does the IMS E61 Nanotec shower screen fit my machine?
It is designed for E61 group heads. IMS lists models from Bezzera, Casadio, ECM, Expobar, Faema, Rocket, Vibiemme (Domobar) and Wega, among others. Before buying, check whether your machine has an E61 group with a 57 mm shower screen.
What does the Nanotech coating do?
It is water-repellent. As a result, fewer coffee grounds stick to the screen, and it is easier to clean.
What is a membrane shower screen?
The membrane with 200 µm openings is permanently integrated into the screen. It distributes the water finely over the whole surface instead of letting it out in a few jets.
