Jungle Flower – elegant single-origin coffee from Peru

A soft, creamy body, a floral elegance with a delicate hint of jasmine, and a mild, round finish that fades away smoothly: Jungle Flower is our washed single origin from Peru – elegant, creamy, and mild, made for quiet, beautiful moments in your cup.

We roast it to a medium level in our Swiss coffee roastery – balanced enough so that its creamy softness and floral elegance with a hint of jasmine are preserved without being overshadowed.

The hands behind Jungle Flower

Jungle Flower comes from the Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera Laguna de Los Cóndores in the province of Luya, in the highlands of the Amazonas region in northern Peru. Founded in 2017 by twelve coffee producers in the Providencia district, the cooperative is now a community of around 800 coffee-growing families – including 243 women – who work in direct trade with roasters in Europe and the USA.

The farms are located at an altitude of 1200 to 2200 meters. At this altitude, the cherries ripen slower and denser – the basis for the rounded sweetness and elegant clarity you'll find in your cup. Classic varieties such as Typica, Caturra, Bourbon, Catuaí, and Villa Sarchi are cultivated, with cup ratings between 82 and 86 SCA points. Drinking Jungle Flower means being a part of this community – that's the beauty of coffee with a story.

Why it tastes so soft and elegant

Jungle Flower is washed processed. In this method, the fruit pulp is removed before drying, allowing the pure, clean side of the bean to come to the forefront – this is the reason for the elegant, clean cup without heavy notes.

The temperature also determines which aromas are released: a little hotter, the body becomes fuller and rounder; a little cooler, the floral elegance and delicate jasmine stand out more clearly. This way, you have the soft elegance in your own hands, without any pressure.

How Jungle Flower tastes in the cup

As an espresso, it is soft, creamy, and mild, with a round, elegant finish. We extract by weight ratio, 1:2 as a starting point – about 18 g of coffee to 36 g of espresso. In a filter or pour-over, it becomes clearer and lighter, and the floral elegance with its hint of jasmine comes out most finely.

There's no right or wrong – the coffee has to taste good to you, that's all that matters. And because the bean, humidity, and you yourself change daily, no two cups are exactly alike. This is not a limitation; it's the beauty of it.

Who Jungle Flower is for

For anyone who likes it soft, mild, and elegant – a coffee that doesn't have to be loud to please. Its creamy nature makes it a calm companion for every day, whether as an espresso, in a filter, or as a pour-over. And for those who love elegance, beneath the mild softness lies a delicate floral note with a hint of jasmine. No prior knowledge is needed – just a desire for a beautiful cup.

What you need for it

To ensure the delicate elegance reaches the cup, a consistent grind is helpful. In our coffee grinders, you'll find affordable and precise options like the Varia VS3, while the Varia VS6 offers more versatility; for hand grinding, you can grind finely and smoothly with the Comandante hand grinders. Unsure what suits you? Our consultation tool can help.

Because Jungle Flower particularly flourishes in filter and pour-over preparations, brewers from the Hario Collection or the AeroPress are suitable – both affordable and versatile; for those who want more, the Weber Workshops range offers the BIRD. To ensure the correct ratio, a scale is helpful: compact from the Normcore Collection, with app and flow display from the Acaia Collection.
