The small gasket that keeps the group dry
Under the group cover sits a gasket that seals the transition to the brew group. This NOVUS version has part number L103/B. It costs next to nothing, yet it decides whether a puddle forms in the base of the machine.
Gaskets in this position work against pressure and heat with every brewing cycle. They harden, lose their resilience and take on the shape of their groove. After that, they only seal as long as you tighten firmly – which ruins the sealing surface.
When it is due
The group cover is weeping or showing traces of limescale. The old gasket is rock-hard, squashed or torn. The group has already been retightened and is still not dry. Or a group service is due anyway – in which case it should be replaced as a matter of routine.

Who it is for
For workshops that carry out group services, and for businesses that deliberately keep small parts like this in stock. A missing gasket holds up an entire bar on a Saturday morning.
Important for installation
The gasket sits in the pressurised brew water line. The machine must be disconnected from the power supply, depressurised and cooled down, and the groove should be wiped clean before the gasket is fitted. We deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions here – this is a job for a qualified technician.
Goes well with
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich: We always keep two gaskets of this size in the tool compartment, not one – our rule, not a manufacturer requirement. They are tiny, tend to drop into the bottom of the machine and are then gone at exactly the worst moment. Afterwards, the test cup tastes good with Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate or Very Nutty from our coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a short message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference from the VITON version?
They are two different materials, each with its own number: L103/B is NOVUS, L103/A is VITON. The serial number tells you which one is fitted in your machine – or we do.
How many gaskets are included?
One. For multi-group machines you will need several accordingly.
How often should I replace it?
We replace it as part of every major group service, rather than waiting until it leaks.
Can I do this myself?
We recommend a qualified technician, because the group has to be opened and the gasket sits in the pressurised line.
Can I see the part in your showroom?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.
