La Marzocco nipple cap for the GS3 drain box – the small part that prevents bigger trouble
The GS3 drain box is where everything the machine wants to get rid of comes together: rinse water, drip tray water, condensate. The nipple has a cap that keeps the path sealed for as long as it is supposed to stay closed. If it becomes porous or the thread wears out, you won't see it on the machine, but on the damp cabinet floor underneath.
That's why this is a part you replace as a precaution rather than waiting – it costs little and saves you hunting for the leak.
When it's due
When it gets damp under the machine without the drip tray overflowing. When the cap can no longer be tightened properly. And routinely at every major service, when the drain box is open anyway.

Important to note
The O-ring is not included. If yours has a few years under its belt, order one too – a new cap on a hard old ring still won't seal. Drop us a quick line and we'll add the right size.

Tip from our café
We place a light-coloured sheet of kitchen paper under the drain box and leave it overnight. In the morning you can see at a glance whether it really is the cap or the hose further back – that saves taking things apart on a hunch. This is our workshop routine from Bern and Zurich, not a manufacturer specification. For dialling in afterwards we use Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate for chocolatey notes and Very Nutty for maximum body. All roasts under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we'll confirm the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.

Is the O-ring included?
No, this part is supplied without an O-ring. Write to us if you'd like to order one with it.
How can I tell the cap is leaking?
By moisture under the machine even though the drip tray isn't overflowing. A sheet of kitchen paper under the drain box shows it overnight.
Do I need tools?
Usually your hand is enough. Don't force it tight – the seal comes from the O-ring, not from the torque.
Does it also fit a Linea Mini?
This part is listed for the GS3. For other models, we're happy to check the fit using the serial number.
