La Marzocco Strada X 1-Group – Espresso Machine with Pressure Profiling by Weight
Your hand rests on the paddle, the shot is running, and you watch the pressure curve unfold exactly as you just shaped it – linked to a target weight the machine reaches on its own. A single group carries the full technology La Marzocco developed over two years with thirty baristas worldwide, the "Street Team" the Strada is named after. This most compact version of the Strada X line brings full profiling technology to one counter – for single-group specialty bars, training rooms, and the competition table.
At Coffee Coaching Club, we are both a partner of La Marzocco and a coffee roastery – we support with configuration, installation, training, and service.
All Features at a Glance
Paddle Profiling by Weight
A redesigned paddle under your hand automatically turns every movement into a pressure curve, linked to an adjustable target weight – through an algorithm developed by La Marzocco. This keeps the result consistent from cup to cup, even with unusual curves. This paddle is exactly what sets the Strada X apart from the Strada S with its more classic controls – both approaches are legitimate, you know your business best.
Smart Saturation
The pressure sensor integrated into the group head automatically performs pre-infusion, fully saturating the coffee puck before the pump starts. This ensures water flows evenly through the puck – the foundation for repeatable results.
Saturated Brew Group
The saturated brew group keeps the temperature very stable cup after cup – the thermal backbone of every La Marzocco.
Independent Boiler and Pump
A dedicated boiler for the group head keeps brew temperature independent from the separate steam boiler, which delivers the desired steam pressure. An external pump provides the constant pressure behind Smart Saturation and your individual pressure curve on this one group.
PID Temperature and Pressure Control
The brew boiler and steam boiler operate independently, with an accuracy of 0.05 °C, plus PID-assisted pressure control for custom pressure curves.
Straight-In Portafilter with Steam Purge
The portafilter slides straight in rather than twisting – faster, gentler on the puck, and easier on the wrist. Automatic steam purging cleans the group head after each shot.
Integrated Scale and Operating Modes
A scale integrated into the drip tray combines precise drip prediction with pressure profiles. Operation is possible in manual mode, via saved profiles, or in AV mode with a fixed target weight. Additionally, Pro-Touch steam wands that remain cool to the touch, and a Hot Water Economizer for precise hot water temperature.

Installation and Service
The machine is produced upon order and arrives from the factory without a plug. For professional commissioning on site, we recommend the installation package and the limescale protection filter installation – both are automatically added to your cart once you add the machine. With every new coffee machine from CHF 1'500, a private barista introduction course of around 60 minutes is included – in Bern, Zurich or online, for up to two people from the same household or company attending together. The course must take place within one month of delivery; after that, the entitlement expires. Get in touch with us for the course and we'll find a date together.
What Goes With It

Frequently Asked Questions
What does pressure profiling by weight mean?
Pressure profiles can be linked to a target weight. A La Marzocco algorithm keeps the result consistent, even with custom pressure curves.
What is Smart Saturation?
Integrated pressure sensors automatically perform pre-infusion, fully saturating the puck before the pump starts – for even flow and repeatable shots.
What sets the Strada X 1-group apart from the 2- and 3-group versions?
The technology is identical – paddle profiling by weight, Smart Saturation, saturated brew group. The 1-group version is the most compact configuration in the Strada X line: a single group for one counter, ideal for training, competition, or a small specialty bar. The 2- and 3-group versions bring the same technology to multiple groups running in parallel for higher volume.
Who is the Strada X 1-group intended for?
For single-group specialty bars, training rooms, and the competition table – for anyone who wants full profiling technology on a single group. This is our recommendation, one of many – you know your business best.
Can I see the Strada X live before I buy it?
That depends on whether the Strada X is on display right now. Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich Oerlikon (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – it is too large for that, and the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the Strada X is currently there.
Roastery tip
A machine that uses pressure curves based on weight invites experimentation – especially with lighter beans. As a roastery, we tailor profiles to your operation, from chocolatey-round like our Cozy Chocolate to livelier, fruity cups. Talk to us. This is our recommendation, one of many.
