Matcha Set Sakura – Yoko Design Coffret Matcha Sakura

The Yoko Design Matcha Set Sakura takes the Japanese cherry blossom as its design idea. Bowl and chasen holder have a pink glaze, the tools follow traditional matcha preparation.

The set includes a bamboo chashaku for measuring, a handmade bamboo chasen for whisking, a handmade ceramic matchawan with pouring spout and a ceramic chasen holder. Matcha powder is not included.

What is included in the Matcha Set Sakura?

Four pieces: chashaku (bamboo scoop), chasen (bamboo whisk), matchawan (ceramic bowl) and a chasen holder. Matcha powder is not included.

How do I prepare matcha with the set?

The Kyoto tea house Ippodo gives as a basic recipe 2 g of sifted matcha, 60 ml of water at 80 °C and 15 seconds of vigorous whisking with the chasen. Use the chashaku to measure the powder straight into the bowl.

How does the Sakura set differ from the traditional matcha set?

The contents are the same: chashaku, chasen, matchawan and chasen holder. The difference is the glaze: Sakura is pink, the traditional set green-brown.

Tip from the roastery: If you drink coffee as well as matcha: from our coffee roastery in Zurich, Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight show their chocolatey, nutty side in the filter. For espresso with plenty of body we use Very Nutty. This is our recommendation, one of many.
