MHW-3BOMBER Magnetic Dosing Ring Yu Series 58.35 mm – no more coffee next to the basket
You have the portafilter ready, put the Yu ring on, and you can feel it pull itself onto the rim. The grounds trickle into the wide opening instead of onto the counter and drip tray. Even if you stir afterwards, the coffee stays where it belongs.
The ring holds 36 magnets. They hold it on the outside of the portafilter rim, so the ring does not reach into the basket and takes up no space there. It is made of stainless steel and black aluminium.
Will it hold on your portafilter?
The ring is made for 58 mm portafilters. Magnets only hold on a magnetic rim. If you are unsure, briefly hold an ordinary magnet to the rim of your portafilter: if it sticks, the ring will hold too.

Cleaning
In our experience it is enough to knock out the ring briefly after use and wipe it with a damp cloth now and then. Then let it dry well.

Who it is made for
For you if you grind straight into the portafilter and the grounds have been landing next to the basket. For everyone who stirs before tamping and does not want to push anything over the rim. And for home coffee bars where stainless steel and black already set the tone.
Tip from our café: When you grind straight into the portafilter, the coffee piles up in the middle. In our experience it pays to distribute first with the ring on and only then take it off: that way nothing falls over the rim when you lift it, and your dose stays exact. It pays off with every bean, with Cozy Chocolate and its dark, chocolatey profile just as with Nutty Delight, our nutty blend from Brazil and India. With the elegant single origin Jungle Flower from Peru, in our experience you can taste even small deviations in the dose. You will find more coffees under coffee beans.
