Timemore Millab M01 – Hand Grinder with 44mm Pineapple Burrs
It feels heavy and cool in your hand, the adjustment dial turns smoothly like the focus ring of a camera lens. A rich, quiet resistance when cranking, and the ground coffee falls evenly into the catch cup.
The M01 is a joint development by Millab and Timemore – a hand grinder that emphasizes technology and haptics, covering everything from espresso to French press. Coffee Coaching Club is the official Timemore distributor in Switzerland.
The Pineapple Burrs
At its core is a 44-millimeter conical burr set made of SUS420 stainless steel with the characteristic Pineapple geometry. The idea behind it: to bring the consistency of a flat burr into a cone. Due to the extended grinding path – comparable to a 64-millimeter flat burr – a very narrow particle distribution with little fines is created, with pleasantly easy cranking. The result is clear, clean cups from espresso to filter.
Adjustment like a Camera Lens
The grind size is adjusted via an external, numbered adjustment dial that works like a camera's focus ring – 100 clicks at 0.0125 millimeters each. You see exactly where you are and can always reproduce a recipe. The burr gap starts at 0.0725 millimeters, the finest value of a Timemore hand grinder to date. P7-grade ball bearings with a radial runout of less than 3 micrometers ensure a buttery-smooth, consistent operation.
Material and Handling
The aluminum housing with a matte textured surface feels grippy and high-quality in hand; at around 1.1 kilograms, the grinder stands firmly. The catch cup holds approximately 50 grams and snaps into place via a threadless snap coupling – quick access, easy cleaning. A rubber base keeps it in place while grinding.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Pineapple burr?
A 44mm conical burr set made of SUS420 stainless steel with a geometry that brings the extended grinding path of a flat burr into a cone. This results in a tight particle distribution with little fines and easy cranking.
Is the M01 suitable for espresso?
Yes. The external dial with 100 clicks of 0.0125 millimeters each allows you to adjust very finely for espresso or coarsely for French Press. The fine burr gap starting at 0.0725 millimeters supports precise espresso settings.
What is included in the delivery?
The grinder, the catch cup, handle and knob, a cleaning brush, and the manual.
Can I see it before buying?
Gladly. You can experience the grinder live in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon. Bringing your own beans is welcome.
Roastery Tip
With the M01, a chocolatey-nutty profile unfolds a beautiful depth – take Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight, 1:2 as a starting point for espresso. Thanks to its fine grind, it also makes light, fruity beans like Wild Peach enjoyable for pour-over. This is our recommendation, one of many.
