Moccamaster KBG Select – the full pot or the half, always full of flavour
In the morning, the whole pot for the family; in the afternoon, just a few cups for yourself: the Moccamaster KBG Select in the Swiss Version adapts to both with a single switch. A full pot takes around six minutes.
Moccamaster builds the KBG Select by hand in the Netherlands, for 4 to 10 cups. It is certified by the European Coffee Brewing Center (ECBC) and the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).
Features
Copper heating element, 92–96 °C
The copper heating element brings the water to a brew temperature between 92 and 96 °C. Slightly cooler brings out more aroma in the bean, slightly hotter more body. How strong and how fine you brew is up to you – what counts is that it tastes good to you. This is our view, one of many.
Select switch
With the Select switch you choose between a full and a half pot. In half-pot mode the flow time is delayed, so the water has enough time to extract the flavour and aromas of the coffee – just as with a full pot. This makes the KBG Select suitable for a full pot and for single cups.
Warming plate
The warming plate keeps the carafe at 80–85 °C and switches off automatically after 40 minutes. The heating element switches off as soon as the water has run through.
Built to last
Moccamaster makes the machine from metal and plastic (free of BPA, BPS, BPF and phthalates). It is repairable, and all parts are available separately.

What goes with it
Freshly ground filter coffee tastes fullest. For anyone who wants a grinder that is affordable and precise: the hand grinders from Comandante and Timemore. Tip from the roastery: For the pot we recommend Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight – full-bodied, round and aromatic. If you want maximum body with no acidity at all, go for Very Nutty. For a fruity experience there is Wild Peach. That is our recommendation, one of many.
