Dosing cup and sealed shaker
Normcore combines a dosing cup and a sealed shaker in one piece. After grinding, you close the lid, hold it in place and shake the grounds loose.
Distribution tool inside
As you shake, the distribution tool inside the cup breaks up clumps and reduces static charge. According to Normcore, this helps against channelling and against grounds sticking to the cup.
Works as a filling ring
The parts can be separated. This way the cup also serves as a filling ring that guides the grounds directly into the portafilter.
A removable spinning top
The distribution tool is modelled on a spinning top. You can take it out and let it spin on the counter. According to Normcore, the design is patent pending.

Cup, ring, lid and distribution tool are easy to take apart and wash by hand. Normcore advises against the dishwasher, strong detergents, hot water and soaking overnight.
The right size
The size depends on the basket of your portafilter. Normcore assigns 51 mm to De'Longhi machines with their own portafilter, 54 mm to Breville and Sage (such as Barista Express, Barista Pro, Bambino Plus, Oracle), and 58 mm to E61 groups, Gaggia, La Marzocco and most portafilter machines. If in doubt, measure the top rim of your basket.
