Profitec powder funnel black – magnetic dosing funnel 58 mm
Freshly ground coffee falls in a dense stream, and the counter around it stays clean.
Why a funnel does more than keep things tidy
A portafilter has a rim, and that rim is exactly where the grounds fall past. A tenth of a gram or two here, a little on the tray there, and the dose you read on the scale is no longer the dose sitting in the basket. Because espresso can be described by its brew ratio, usually 1:2 from dose to yield, every lost tenth of a gram shifts the calculation a little.
Profitec's matte black funnel sits magnetically on the portafilter and guides everything that comes out of the grinder into the basket. No clamping, no screwing, and after grinding it comes off again in one movement. With its 58 mm diameter, it's matched to Profitec portafilters.
What happens next is up to you: distribute, tamp, pull the shot. Particle size and its uniformity determine how the water runs through the puck, and a cleanly filled basket is where that begins. There's no right and no wrong here, only the coffee, which should taste good. Our opinion is one of many.

Who it's made for
For anyone with a Profitec machine and a 58 mm portafilter who wants to keep grinding clean. For anyone who doses by weight and wants the amount they weighed to actually land in the basket. And for anyone who simply enjoys using tools that feel good, because the magnet clicks when you put it on.
No budget is merely a starting point. A funnel costs little and still makes a noticeable difference to your daily routine. You'll find more models among our dosing funnels, from simple to elaborate.
What goes well with it
After the funnel come distribution and tamping. For anyone who wants an affordable, precise WDT tool and tamper: the WDT tool and the Spring-Loaded Tamper from our Normcore collection. If you want more, with the Moonraker and solid tampers: the Weber Workshops collection.
And before that comes the scale. For anyone who wants to weigh compactly, precisely and reliably, the Normcore scales are the obvious choice. If you want an app, Bluetooth and a flow-rate display, you'll find that in the Acaia collection. Which grinder works upstream is something you decide in our coffee grinders: burr sets are like car engines, there's no best, only ones that suit what you want to drink.
Frequently asked questions
Which portafilters does the powder funnel fit?
It has a diameter of 58 mm and sits on Profitec portafilters. It usually fits other brands with a 58 mm basket as well, but Profitec only officially confirms its own portafilter. If you're unsure, write to us with your machine's item number and we'll look into it together.
How does the funnel stay on the portafilter?
Magnetically. You put it on, it stays put, and after grinding you take it off again in one movement. There are no clamps and nothing to adjust.
Do I even need a powder funnel?
Need is a big word. It makes grinding cleaner and keeps your dose stable, because nothing lands beside the basket. If you dose carefully by hand, you can manage without one. That's our view, one of many.
Can I see the product before buying?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there. Buying online in Switzerland is the normal route, and this text is made for that.
How quickly do you deliver, and where to?
We deliver within 2 to 4 working days throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein. Questions are welcome by email to [email protected] or by phone during business hours.
Orders are placed online – that's the normal way with us. If you'd like to know something beforehand, write to us at [email protected] or drop by coffeecoachingclub.ch. You can reach us by phone during business hours.
From our coffee roastery
What ends up in the cup is also down to the bean. From our coffee roastery, Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight are our main recommendation: full-bodied, aromatic, dense, with caramel, chocolate and nuts. If you're after maximum body with no acidity at all, reach for Very Nutty.
And for curious days, Wild Peach is ready, lively and fruity. That's our recommendation, one of many. Any bean you enjoy is the right one, including the one from the supermarket.
