The surface that makes the puck – version 1-210-0255-2
The tamper plate is the part of the automatic tamper that meets the coffee. Its diameter determines how much of a gap remains at the edge of the basket, and its surface determines whether the puck releases cleanly again. This version measures 58.3 millimetres, has a non-stick coating and carries part number 1-210-0255-2.
For the same size and the same description, our documentation lists a second number, 1-210-0105-5. It does not say how the two differ in construction – so we list both as separate items and put the number in the title instead of guessing. If you know the number of your old plate, order by that.
When it is due
It is due when coffee sticks to the plate, when the puck surface tears as the tamper rises, when the coating is scratched, worn bare or peeling, or when the edge has taken knocks.

Important for installation
The plate sits on the moving ram. Disconnect the unit from the mains before working on it, and after the replacement do a test run with an empty portafilter to make sure the plate runs freely and enters the basket centrally. We deliberately do not give step-by-step instructions here.
Who it is for
For bars that work with 58.3 mm and know the number of the plate fitted – and for service companies that prefer to match the number rather than the size when ordering.
What goes with it
We list the second version with the same size as Tamper plate 58.3 mm, number 1-210-0105-5, and the smaller one as Tamper plate 58 mm. The same mount also holds the lower clamping ring and the guide ring for M3 to M6. The whole category is under Macap and PuqPress spare parts and under Puqpress.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
We photograph the old plate together with its number before it goes in the bin. With two versions of the same size, that photo is the only record that really helps next time – this is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. Afterwards we check with whatever is in the grinder at the time, usually Nutty Delight, otherwise Cozy Chocolate or Very Nutty. The full range is under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Why are there two plates with the same size?
Because our documentation lists two numbers, 1-210-0105-5 and 1-210-0255-2, with an identical description. It names no difference in construction, and we are not going to invent one here. If in doubt, send us a photo of your old plate.
Which one should I choose if I don't know the number?
Then drop us a quick line telling us which unit you have and what year it is from. We would rather clarify this in advance than have an original spare part lie around unused.
58 or 58.3 millimetres?
That depends on the basket you work with. We stock both sizes.
Are fixings included?
You receive the plate. Whether screws should be replaced as well on your unit will become clear when you remove it.
Can I pick up the part in your shop?
Yes. We are in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Drop us a quick line telling us which part you need, and we will have it ready for you.
