The left steam shut-off valve for your Doppia – as a complete set rather than a puzzle
On a two-group machine, each steam side has its own shut-off valve. It is the part the service technician uses to take one side out of operation without draining the whole machine – and that is exactly why nobody notices its condition in everyday use. Until it drips.
This kit contains the valve together with the two fittings that belong to it. That is the more honest order than three individual parts, where on installation day you are guaranteed to have the wrong thread.
When it is due
When the valve keeps letting through in the closed position. When the unions get damp or limescale traces form. When the valve no longer closes cleanly or the thread suffered during the last service.

Important for installation
The kit sits in the pressurised steam line. Before any work, the machine must be disconnected from the mains, depressurised and cooled down. We deliberately don't give step-by-step instructions here – steam unions need the right tightening torque and the right sealant, otherwise they will leak under operating pressure.

Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
On two-group machines, we deliberately shut off one steam side at a time during quiet hours instead of keeping both running all the time – this saves energy and keeps the valves moving freely, because they are operated regularly. A valve that stays open for years is the one that no longer seals when it is first closed. That is our workshop routine, not a manufacturer specification. For dialling in afterwards we use Nutty Delight, for chocolatey notes Cozy Chocolate and for body Very Nutty. All roasts under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fit on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we'll clarify the fit together. What is the difference between the left and the right kit?
The scope of delivery. The left kit contains one valve, one straight fitting and one 90-degree fitting, the right one contains one valve and two fittings. Order the side you need.
Is this a solenoid valve?
No. This is a purely mechanical shut-off valve with no coil and no electrical connection.
What thread sizes do the fittings have?
The thread dimensions are not stated in the documentation for number R219906864. We make no claims about this – write to us and we'll clarify it before you order.
Does the kit also fit other Rocket models?
It is listed for the RE Doppia. If in doubt, send us the serial number of your machine and we'll check the fit.
